This is the second part of the immersion procession for Jagadhhatri Pujo. The immersion procession of any pujo, in Bengal, is a festival in its own rights. It generally consists of several drum players, people dancing their hearts out, fireworks and ‘dhunuchi naach’ among several other colourful aspects. The Jagadhhatri immersion procession of Chandannagore is very similar to the Carnival of Rio De Janerio, Brazil. People gather in hundreds to watch the procession, as they bid adieu to their ‘Maa’. Kolkata is also catching up fast, and in this video, we try to bring some glimpses of the Jagadhhatri Pujo immersion procession from Kolkata. This video is on the Jagadhhatri idol immersion of Shyam Square, Shyambazar, Kolkata.
