I bought a small box and picked up a Ripken base and a Bo Jackson mini. I haven’t collected since 1996 and was so entertained by these cards. Soooo tempted to buy a ton more. Pricey though. Nice vid and those claves….so odd! lol

Ginter is super addicting. And if you haven't been collecting since 1996, welcome back, and you'll learn that Ginter is actually one of the more affordable products out there. Prices are really stupid these days. So when you find a product you really enjoy and it isn't $300 a box or more, you really lean in. I encourage you to get more. Hot Box cards made the day. The Claves card is neat and very Ginter. But what I don't like is that it has no history. Usually those extra wonky hits have history, a fossil, a piece of hair, JFKs suit. This has nothing. So if it is just a piece of a Clave they got at a music store, who really cares?

Wow, what a great steal of the Hot Box cards. Didn't know Dawson was in this so thanks for showing that off. Just picked up the Filligree parallel on Ebay. Interesting relic that maybe looks like a script since he is an actor? Congrats on the thick relic. Almost looks like a bat barrel. It's fun to get a different kind of relic. I do like the bigger cards with the full color look. Thanks for showing off my first look at Ginter!

Agreed, the Hot Box cards made the day for me. They look really nice. Great job on grabbing the filligree. They are a nice parallel. I check on that guys other relics and it looks like they are all script cards, notes for jokes in his standup, etc. I really do hope for a cool auto this year with how many solid autos are in the checklist. But you just never know what the hit is gonna be. Last thing I was expecting from that thick pack was this kind of relic. It is kinda neat, and as a Ginter Geek I'm on board. But the thing that I don't like is that it has no history on it. So it is an ancient Clave? If it was a piece of a famous musician or composers collection that would be perfect for Ginter. But if it is just a generic piece I don't love it. At least a fossil or piece of hair from George Washington or someone has history. Because of that dynamic, no one know what kind of value to place on these music relics. And all the different ones are numbered differently. This one is slightly more rare. I look forward to ripping some blasters and the second hobby box during the 8 Breaks.

Great box and rip! Those In Action cards are a hard pull! My daughters and I took a Cuban percussion class and they started us with Claves! We all know some good claves beats! That was a pretty cool hit! Thanks for sharing Jason!

I'm so happy to hear someone knows about Claves! It is a super wonky hit. I've said to others that the more distance I get from the break the more iffy I am on that hit. Mostly because it has no history. I love the super wonky hits like a fossil, presidential pin, hair, but this has no history. If it is just a piece of cheap Clave from a music store, who really cares? Hot box cards stole the show for me.

I do love my minis, and in going back, we did not get really great minis in this box. The truth is the Hot Box cards stole the show for me and made up for a truly odd box. Nice to see you in the comments.

Classic A&G Shenanigans. Those Hot Box cards are really sharp looking. I may have to see if I can find a few of those. That's a solid Pickup, especially with the RC and Yankees haul.

Hot Box PC cards totally stole the show for me. The more distance I get from the rip the more I'm iffy on the Claves hit. It is very Ginter. But usually those wonky relics have cool history. A fossil, hair, fabric from a president or something. This has no history, so what do we make of it. I think lacking history makes these a misstep for Ginter.

The base set looks nice, but I agree that last year was a little cleaner, more "Ginter." But the hot box looks really nice in this design. I love the framed minis too, hoping to pull more as the year goes on. But that hit was wild. No one was expecting that. Appreciate you watching.

Hot Box cards stole the show. Especially with getting so many PC Yanks in those. The box was very odd and in hindsight, not the greatest. Not the greatest minis. Not a lot of PC hits. And the music relic is neat, but because it has no history, nothing to know if it is vintage or what, not the best. No one knows how to price these things.

Claves, not Glaves. It is a percussion instrument. It is a neat looking card, but yeah, super wonky weird Ginter action. The thing I don't like is that it has no history to it like a fossil or historical fabric or something.
