Thanks, Suman ji, for sharing this rare recording of Jagjit and Chitra Singh performed in a private mehfil ! A beautiful ghazal, but the very sad and despondent lyrics penned by Tariq Badayuni sahab are heart breaking ! Ek na ek shama..andhere mein jalaaye rakhiye...Subah hone ko hai mahaul banaaye ..... Rendered soulfully by Chitra ji, in her silky, smooth and soothing voice , with a lot of passion and feelings ! Her euphonious voice just diluting in the soul! And these soul stirring couplets sung with deep emotions , could melt any heart... Jinke haatho.n se hamein, zakhm-e-nihaa pahunche hain ... Wo bhi kehte hain ki, zakhmo.n ko chhupaaye rakhiye ... The added charm of this live performance is the heart warming rendition of the last ash'aar by Jagjitji in his deep rich baritone voice, complementing Chitra ji's soft canorous voice ! Daaman-e-yaar kee zeenat na bane har aa.nsuu.n ....apni pal ko.n ke liye kuchh to, bachaaye rakhiye ! Was such a treat to listen to this marvelous piece of poetry, music and exemplary singing ! Loads of thanks, stay blessed and happy ! 👍💐🙏 Wish the audio quality was better, so that we could have enjoyed more ! 👌👌
