Another rare gem from the Audio Archive of Shri Gulabbhai Parekh ji, shared by his son, for the benefit of music lovers, and for which we are truly grateful to him ! A very famous Ghazal of Mirza Ghalib, sung by various singers in their inimitable style and charismatic voices. But Jagjit ji's rendition of this ghazal in this live performance was of a different level, the classical touch with beautiful aalaaps showcasing his acumen in this genre of music ! The very mournful and disillusioned poetry of Ghalib sung soulfully, in his pristine and magical voice ! Koyii ummeed bar naheen aati ...koyii suurat nazar .......... Pehle aati thi haal-e-dil, pe ha.nsii, ab kisi baat par nahin aati ...... Beautiful aalaaps enhance the lyrical beauty of the poetry and his rendition ! And the last sh'er is very heart touching ....Kaa'ba kis mu.nh se jaaoge 'Ghalib' ....Sharm tum ko magar nahee.n aati .... .Each word of Ghalib has been so beautifully and emotionally rendered in his deep rich baritone voice, could melt any heart ! Sumanji, aap ke meherbani se hum aajkal Jagjit ji ko naye dafa discover kar rahe hai. Hame afsos hai ki itna bada ghazal exponent hote hue bhi unhone ghazal gayaki ko thoda commercialize kar diya. Khas karke Mirza Ghalib TV serial ke baad se unhone aapna ghazal rendition mein bahot changes laye. Aur uske saath harmonium sanghat ko ghatakar guitar, violin ....ye sab western instruments ka istemal unka style ko lokapriya toh bahot kiya.....leki ghazal gayaki ka asli flavor se humlog banchit rahe gaye. Unka contemporary sabhi ghazal gayak unka hi marg ko follow kiya aur popular hote chale gaye. Lekin dhire dhire ghazal gayaki mein jo ek artistic flavor hota hai....woh gayab hote Gaya aur aaj toh ghazal Bharat mein ek lost art kaisa ban Gaya. Jagjit ji ka prarambhik daur Ka ye sab concert sunke bahot dukh hota hai man mein ......ki itna Mahan fankar ko humlog sahi se pehchan nehi paye.
