The final and longest part of the Jaguar Banger Race Car build story, this time its race day where its raced, crashed and pulled out again. And then finally stripped of spare parts and scrapped.

It blows my mind as to the work that goes into a project only to have it destroyed in one day of racing. Just insane.

yeah, looks like buying a stripped out shell at scrapyard and rebuilding it from seems more beneficial than stripping yourself

I have really enjoyed watching this series. Big kudos to Callum for sharing it all with us. I liked this one probably the best of the four, seeing the pit work and stripping the car again. Well done, guys-shame you didn't have more joy with the car. Keep up the good work, guys like you are the back bone of this great sport.

Never realised how much dedication and hard work and long hours that goes into preparing a car to make it safe for the driver to compete then having to salvage the useable parts so as to build the next car.

Can't fault the build quality of the car.... but I've never seen a steering wheel come off like that 😮😂😂😂

The most interesting part in the pits is how they try to pull it back in it's original shape

A great set of vids. So much work goes into each banger. A team effort too. Way different from bangers we raced in the mid 70s. Good job lads.

A huge thanks to Callum for getting these 4 very interesting videos together. Very interesting to see the effort that is needed to get a banger racer put together.

The question is WHY? All that work for a few minutes use. I have been involved in street stock racing here in Oz. Not demo derbies in clunkers. Still very hard on cars which are a LOT safer and actually quite fast. Most competitors get a season say 15 shows from a body shell, often more. Just search for street stocks and you will generally see very good racing. They have saved sprintcar shows who bore the public and the real racing is from the bottom level

Wow. Very nice to get an inside look of a banger build. The only thing I'm missing is some technical details about the build, but in general I must say I'm surprised of the quality of the build + the effort and craftsmanship. There can't be much difference either in cost or time to build this compared to building a race car that is expected to last years rather than minutes. What would it cost to build one of these? £10k in parts and some 150 hours mantime?
