More conversation, between dad and lad, in one episode, than I had in a lifetime with mine. How it should be. Wonderful.

Greetings from Ireland. Really enjoying your show. I’ve only last week acquired a Daimler series 1 4.2 (a birthday present to myself to mark my 60th year) and it is great to have your videos as a reference for jobs I’ll need to do. Well done 👍

It is great to see how the Jag is coming along. For a car that sat for so long she does look to be in pretty good nick. Without wanting to be to cheeky, is there any chance you could get some microphones in the future as I have trouble hearing you at times and then have to go back and turn up the volume to then turn it back down when your then are closer to the microphone on the camera that you are using. It is good to see you both back putting out regular content for us lot to enjoy.

We loved our very early SWB S2 XJ6 & had it for 30 years as it was super reliable & handled so well. We only sold it because it was not air-conditioned & as we got older we needed air-con for our hot summer days. We took our Mk2 to a classic car display & our old S2 turned up with its current owners who also love the car. S2 are supposed to be the least desirable XJ6 but we think they are the best looking ones & if you get a good one they are hard to beat as a useable classic.

Good to see a Jaguar update. As soon as you mentioned the knock from the gearbox area it reminded me of when I did the same repair on one of my previous XJ6's. I always had leapers on the front of mine (Except for the Daimler XJ6 I had), it was so nice to see on the bonnet. I took my mother out for ride up in the North Yorkshire Dales one day in it, (probably around 1993?) and a guy doffed his cap as we passed through Kettlewell. That gesture made our especially for my mother who smiled and waved back. Jaguar's are as much about memories as they are about great design, grace, space and pace. Of all the cars you have, a classic Jaguar will give you memories to treasure. And the car in this video, reminds me so much of my British Racing Green XJ6 the memories flood back. I was even asked to hire it for a photo shoot for a band. Unfortunately, because the video and photoshoot had guns, the police were called and the whole thing was stopped because the production company hadn't informed the police of what was happening on the old power station site. Still, it was great fun!

Just loving the content guys. As a former vehicle technician/ plant engineer/machinist now retired I really appreciate you skills, patience and methodology on all of your work and its a great watch each week. Really thought you had more issues with that Jag engine than what materialised with the all of the initial smoke and steam coming out of the back end initially. Brilliant content well done.

One thing I did when I cleaned out the water manifold was I removed the water temperature sender because it's at the bottom and a lot of crap can gather here, it can also give a false temp. Reading. Enjoy the interaction between father and son. I've got a long term issue with trying to remove the heater core on my series one. Much bigger job than a series two or possibly series three. All the best with your projects.

Good repairs on the Jaguar, it would have taken me six months to do all that work. But having said that its the same here, the trees in the garden need trimming urgently, before winter sets in (we are in New Zealand), our Mazda MPV has a growing list of repairs that need done, the scrap metal in the shed needs to be taken to the recyclers etc, etc.🍀

Great to see you knocking the problems down, one by one, but do be careful spraying things outside, so close to your cars. A neighbour of mine (nobody owned up!) sprayed white paint outside and my dark blue car was covered in thousands of tiny white paint spots. Took me many hours with a clay bar, polish and solvent to clean it off and there are still some spots left to remind me...
@Zeem4
@Zeem4 6 ай бұрын
My neighbour did that while spray painting the fence. I asked him beforehand if I needed to move my car, and he said no and assured me it would be fine. Now my blue Renault Scenic is covered in tiny brown dots all down one side.

You continue to create the content that you want and well watch it. Yes some are here for the Mini content and others might like the Jag or the MX5 either way there’s something for everyone. The troubles and solutions can expand to almost any vehicle regardless of its age. Each project will get its turn to have you two gents setting out to tackle any issues whether it’s a starter problem, stopping or just a case of getting the welder out. Right when’s the bar open?

Great video lads - - Dad and I are doing my Daimler S2 (1978) and Dads XJ12L (on Carbs & 29k from new). The Daimler needs the breaks sorting as yours did but also the AED sorting out; ive rebuilt mine but having followed the set up instructions, it joest doesnt run right. ive invetsted in a manual choke kit not not fitted yet so am keen to see what route you guys take withe choke set up on yours ! As an aside - im assuming the blockage in the manifold impacted the heating system > Keep up th great work buys 👌

Good afternoon gentlemen. The Jaguar's coming along very nicely and your very good at trouble shooting , particularly finding the source of the overheating . Wre you going to see if the headlining is going to clean up ? Or is the camera making it appear to be much dirtier than it is ? Thanks .

Hi thank you for the comment 👍. We need to put a new headlining in as the oil one has completely detached itself from the backing. I actually already have the headliner material to install, just need to get round to putting it in. Regards Mark.

@@upbuild4397 Thanks Mark . One of the first jobs l did on my '76 . I actually removed the side rails , front and rear rails . I then removed the headlining and using it as a pattern made an aluminium pattern , glued the new headling to the metal pattern and then fitted the headlining back into the car . By reclining the seats as far down as you can , l was able to install the headlining without removing the front or rear screens . 14 years later and it still looks perfect ! Cheers !
