@taskeenzahra1211 Actually, Quran uses the word 'wusa'at' for such matters. So, for example, one person can afford to buy an entire house for his wife, while another can only get a few essentials to start a new life. Why to the girl's family..probably because they can arrange the required household stuff better, as per their daughter's needs like kitchen stuff, bedroom stuff etc. Also, in islam, the nikkah ceremony is a very simple affair..no need to invite or feed a lot of ppl. It's the valima that is a feast, done by the groom to announce his marriage. Also, mehr is on the groom. So, no burden on girl or her family. Islam teaches simplicity, mercy, and compassion in every aspect of life, marriage, or divorce. Kaash hum samjh jaen.
