Get G18 to build you a train through the nether for quick and legal transport :P I use that to travel between my bases and it works very well.

you cant build teleporters, if you wont cheat, but you can build nether portals and walk throught the nether from portal to portal! thats very easy and fast ;)

just make a tunnel in the nether going in a random direction for 400 blocks or so. Try and find a desert by doing this and then search the border of the desert until you find a mesa

For faster travel without "cheating" try syncing nether portals. It can be kind of tricky but very helpful if done right. I know paulsoaresjr has a video about it in his survive and thrive playlist so go check it out.
