Fun fact! Before the titanic, the worst maritime disaster came from the same company. The SS Atlantic sank off the coast of Nova Scotia and all the women and children perished, save for 1 12 year old boy who was assisted by a man. The company came under heavy scrutiny for not having better measures in place to protect the weaker passengers. This is why they enacted the women and children first rule. It was essentially a PR move to keep the company afloat. (Pun intended XD)
