Jai is an awesome talent 💯 He wants to be Undisputed in Cruiserweight before HW. He's only interested in the 3 belts he doesn't have, but first there'll be a mandatory defence against Breidis.

Opetaia-Usyk would be a dream match. I couldn't tell who wins, it depends, because if Opetaia fights Usyk within a year, the fight could be extremely competitive, but if it takes to long to make, and Usyk is past 38 years old, then I think Opetaia will win for sure because Usyk's style relies a lot on his stamina, speed, and punching volume.

I wouldn't want to see Jai go to heavyweight anytime soon. I think he should clean out the cruiser ranks which wont take long lol and then see how he goes at light heavyweight against the like of someone like Bivol before even thinking twice about a move up to heavyweight.

Opetaia’s up there with the most exciting fighters I’ve seen in ages. At c.w he should give anyone a run for their money & u.k fighters like okolie & billam smith would be well advised to take up a different sport like darts, rather than face him. At h.w though, he’s way too small to mix it at the top level with these modern giants - a level below that & yes he’d knock seven bells out of most of them 😊
@James-Daley

I think he's a small heavyweight too. He definately wants to go to HW one day (probably for money). He could become the best cruiserweight ever though.

@@James-Daley absolutely he could on to be the best c.w ever, but he’s already 28 & needs to get busy. Bredis is the only big name on his resume to date. To eclipse Usyk or Holyfield he’s going to have to beat several opponents of a similar standard to the ones they beat & the number of strong contenders at c.w doesn’t seem to be there at present, that’s the problem.
@nosherz
@nosherz Жыл бұрын
@@FightingWords Has Usyk made the transition though. To date at h.w, he’s beat a few journeyman & a glorified journeyman in a.j - fury’s on a different level to those guys.

@@James-Daley lol it matters to me as I live not even 20km from the gold coast convention centre. Briedis closed strong and broke Opetaia's jaw. How would you see Jai mentally overcoming that and preparing for a guy who completely dominate him rounds 7-12?
@James-Daley
@James-Daley Жыл бұрын
@@aron.gortman I live within driving distance too (Ballina, NSW). Opetaia dominated Breidis for the first half of that fight. By the time the rematch happens it'll be nearly 2 years ago. Breidis is older now, and I doubt there's any mental demons for Opetaia "only upgrades to the jaw". Just in case there is, I would personally like to see a change of venue. I'll be watching on TV anyway.

My bro!, little insight. Jordy was ready to bang fists. Jordan and opetaia fought in 2012 olympics in amatuers and jordy just got it over opetaia but soon as jordy went pro. Opetaia went pro and wanted his revenge. But now the champ opetaia got his revenge. Jai is coming for all the cruiserweights and their belts. And he aint gonna stop. Hes ready to bang fists. Hes taken on australasia aka australia, new zealand, pacific and asia and now hes come for a the pommes aka english etc like thompson and zorro ortiz which hes knocked out and now chris billam smith and the rest of the english fighters next an then hes coming for american cruiserweights and heavyweights like DAVID TUAMINATOR TUA. The Samoan Uso is hungry. And jai is going for all the bouts before stepping to heavyweight with eddie hearn Like your podcast bro. And your probs not wrong. But he aint stepping up yet until all the belts are around his waists. All the best mate look out for your podcast. I agree with you on everything. He had an outstanding amateur career and the fact he was unknown I believe is what caught Breidis off guard, not to say Jai wouldn’t have won anyway but once Breidis knew he was being outboxed, he made it rough. I think this lay off made Jai as hungry as ever and I noticed a massive change in Jais demeanour since the Breidis fight. A fire in his eyes that I don’t see anyone stopping. I believe he sleeps Breidis in a rematch. He is wonderful to watch. I hope you’ve watched Paulo Aukousos last 3 fights. That guy is gonna bring massive problems to the light heavy division, outstanding timing and movement.
