Wow. This was a memory that I wouldn't have ever recalled. Even watching the modern day Ultraman didn't spark this memory. But I do recall the same and loving this one in the wee hours of Saturdays. Tears came to my eyes. Now 56yrs old

What was the name of this? I wish there were a badly dubbed version in English to go with my Godzilla movie collection.

54 yo here! Same! Huge fan of the finger missiles. I could use those at work some days.
I'm 54 and I remember watching this as a little boy. I must have been very young when it aired but I remember being captivated by it as any young boy of that age would be with a show about flying robots.

I’ll be 55 in June and I remember this show big time! I loved that robot!
As a kid growing up in India, I was absolutely crazy about this series. It ended abruptly and there was no way for me to know why a Japanese series just ended (there was no internet then). I remember being depressed .... this was so good.

now it's clear, as a child I ofter saw models of this japanese robot in the toys shop but I never figured out the tv serie from which the models originated.

In America it was called Jimmy and the Giant Robot and it was amazing! 😃🥰
@senthilarularasu2428 Жыл бұрын
actually it ended proper Abhishek. The giant robot will fight that main villain guy who keeps sending his monsters, in the final episode and since he is a tough guy n very strong, the robot takes him to space and detonates himself destroying the main villain and himself... I cried so much at the end :D

@@senthilarularasu2428 Yes I know but then there was no need to end it like that. they could have continued the series. I would watch it if it continued infinitely.

Japanese people, always dreaming of something that would be big enough to protect them from a nuclear attack. May prays and my heart for this beloved people. :heart:
Giant Robot, Ultra Man, Ultra Seven, and National Kid were my favorite movies as a kid. Looking back on those scenes today, I realize how innocent and weird they were. But, I loved watching them. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Brazil

"The Space Giants" was a good one too. And "Spectraman" (though a bit too similar to "Ultra Man").

Hell yes! Flash back to my childhood go Johnny Socko and his giant robot
I don't recall this being a series, but I do remember seeing a standalone movie of which I assume they pieced together scenes from the series to create. It was awesome and aired from time to time on our local TV station as part of their Saturday afternoon "Creature Feature" show. Loved it every time I could catch it. This was back in the early '70s.
