Jaime flies/sings home from Oshkosh

Now that camp is all set up for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, it's time to fly back home for the evening. Jaime shows off her Poison Ivy, sings a little and even takes a (short) stab at flying. :)

I love your videos. I have 55 hours in a Cessna 172. I have my Student Pilot License and my Class 3 medical. I am going to take my FAA exam and my Oral in the next couple of months. My Wife and I are planning on doing the same kind of stuff you and your Wife do. We love flying and are sick and tired of getting stuck in Portland traffic. Flying has opened so many doors for us. Yep, Playboy resort was active on Lake Geneva. They also had a grass strip. My dad took the family in the early 70s. I remember seeing the bunnies in the bar and as a 12year old, I started walking towards the bar when I felt a tug on my collar. Not happening, Cap'n.

Right next to the old Alpine Valley ski resort. Last place Stevie Ray Vaughan played before the heli they left in went down. The old playboy club stayed open as a hotel and golf course. Not as glamourous as the old PB club but Was a cool place, def needed bunnies though! Good to see Jamie get some multi time!!

I truly enjoy the fact that Jaime can (at the drop of a hat), easily drop right into the Communications for Kevin. I realize Jaime is an experienced ATC but is still nice to see when she steps right into taking over the radios when so many others have difficulty with talking over the radios. In fact, I kinda watch her as well as Kevin to get a few pointers on how to best to be comfortable while talking to ATC.

The first Playboy Mansion was at 1340 North State Highway. Bought by Hefner in 1959 in Chicago's Gold Coast District. It was 30,000 square feet with the famous grotto. The Mansion was never on Lake Geneva, the Playboy Resort was there opening in 1968.

I grew up near LG. There was a Playboy resort near Lake Geneva, but not on the lake,. A hotel, condos, ski hill, paved airport, and golf were part of it. The mansion was in Chicago.

As always, great back-and-forth in the cockpit and the flying is great too. I grew up in poison oak country. When it first breaks out we used Witch Hazel on a cotton ball to settle it down then Cortaid 10 plus every few hours. Worked like a charm. Sooner you get the witch hazel on it the better.....

Nope. Original Playboy Mansion was in Chicago. Lake Geneva was home to the Playboy Resort. There is still a runaway at the resort and its business jet capable. The resort is now called the Grand Geneva and is owned by the Marcus Corporation. It's very nice, worth a short getaway.

They've got a pretty cool snowmobile snocross race there every year at the ski hill. It's a fun time if you're into that kind of thing. Bring a 4wd vehicle and good boots in case the parking is muddy though.

A guy up there told me the entire resort was sold for a few million, but then it cost the new owners $15? million to remove all the asbestos from the hotel and buildings! ....not much beats being 21 and served a hot-buttered rum by a bunny!!! :-)

I was born and raised in Lake Geneva. LG was the location of a Playboy Club and I worked there from 78 to 82. It was sold in the 70's but the resort still operates and has a small airport, located about three miles east- northeast of the City of Lake Geneva off the east end of the lake. I get a kick every time you fly over the lake. It also has a nice little ski hill for winter fun.
