Jaime is the perfect example of sad man. He's unhappily in love with his own mad sister, despised for breaking vows for the sake of what was right, and even when he does do his duty he is despised for that as well. In the end he just won't give a damn what they think of. Because no matter what he do he'll be hated for it

This may be the best Jaime tribute I have seen on the web. Best mixing of music with appropriate scenes. The only two things I think we're missing for an extra six seconds would be to add a scene of Jaime stabbing the Dornish soldier after he beats his cousin to really give feel to how lethal he used to really was key, and the Cersei quote this past scene when she told him 'if you go to that Sept you won't come out alive and without you this is all for nothing." Put that behind twywin lecturing about family name and you stress his conflicted but prominent sense of destiny he has.
@sophiestudios81458 жыл бұрын
Oh thanks that means a lot to me, but theGarostudios has also uploaded a Jaime video and it's far better than mine:D Yes you're right I should have included that. Would have been epic!
@analemos23277 жыл бұрын
Actually, having just watched the other video, I personally prefer this one. Both are wonderful and really well executed, but yours isn't solely focused on how he is perceived by others vs how he really is. You also show how meeting Brienne changes how he sees himself and foreshadows the man he will become in the end.
@sophiestudios81457 жыл бұрын
Yes, I tried to show different aspects of his character, like his relationship to his family, the way Brienne changes his view of himself and of course his issues with honor/ beeing despised by society. Jaime is, in my opinion, such a fascinating character and I tried to do his complex personality justice by including various characteristics.

I still say he's one of the greatest fictional characters ever created and his arc in book 3 a storm of swords is just sublime, you literally go from hating him more than anyone than perhaps Gregor Clegane to fucking adoring him despite all he's done. He has wit as good as Tyrions if not more so (his humours more biting) but he has the badassery to back it up as he's feared pretty much by everyone in the seven kingdoms for his swordsmanship
@Nodydodo17 жыл бұрын

@jusgirl22137 жыл бұрын
First of all, sorry for my bad english. But I feel like I have to honor this beautiful masterpiece that you created for my favourite character! So, from the first second there is a special atmosphere, I can't even describe it with words. Maybe it's the music or Edmure's voiceover, but the first seconds already capture Jaime's complex character perfectly. When you matched "How do you tell yourself that you are decent?" together with the scene before he pushes Bran I got goosebumps! You really get to see what a troubled and broken man jaime is. And I loved that you included Brienne swearing an oath to Catelyn! Oaths have such a great importance in Jaime and Brienne's lifes. Then I was surprised to hear "a man is what others say he is and no more" because I can't even remember who says that xD But anyways, the quote fits Jaime's character perfectly. So, at 1:10 starts the epic part! And when Jaime talks about the people he saved you show him saving Tyrion and Brienne. But my favourite part has to be how you edited his monologue about the mad king with the "Burn them all" flashbacks and his conflict with Eddard Stark. finally when Tywin talks about the "family name that lives on" you show all his kids dying, symbolizing that their legacy is about to crumble. And I have nothing to say about the ending: goosebumps everywhere! I'm so excited to see how he will fill his pages and if he becomes the man he has always meant to be! I'm so glad that I discovered your channel, you are a rare talent! Keep up the amazing work, you just gained a new subscriber!
@thatbitchamara49927 жыл бұрын
That ending was amazing. Best tribute I've seen. You've got a new subscriber. You really captured the complexity of his character. How he's not bad, and how his character isn't just about Cersei. I just hope he survives.

One of the best tributes(and overall videos) that i have ever watched.Throughout the seasons this character has not only changed very much but our perspective of him converged more to:this man is actually good.Of course we can't forget the fact that he pushed a boy off a tower, killed a man without any remorse for his own good and that he sleeps with his sister.But people that man saved half a million lives by killing the mad king.You can't deny that this is deed is better than all of Stark's deeds ever combined.It was so selfless of him to lose his honor at the price of the greater good.It also can't be denied that when he's with Cersei something evil wakes up in him and he starts doing bad things.The show is great because it shows that people aren't always good nor evil.They always have two sides.They are grey.Also i am not justifying him doing all of these horrible things but at these very moments he was always trying to get out of the situation.He is not a freak like Ramsay or Joffrey.He does not do bad things because he wants to but because he needs to.Again i do not justify any of his deeds i am just explaining.He is either inspired by his sister or he needs to get out of crucial situation.At the most important moment in time he was good.Otherwise he also did bad things.He is not perfect.But he definitely is far better than some people on the show who we just sympathize with and just can't admit aren't angels as well.
@sophiestudios81457 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! and I agree 100 % with you. Your comment made me realize that Cersei brings out the worst in him while Brienne brings out the best in him. And imo he is one of the most honorable men in Westeros who, as you said, sacrificed his honor to save the people. It's pretty ironic that one of the most hated men actually has a heart and acts selfless when others would have act selfish. Even his worst act, pushing Bran out the window, was to protect his family, because Cersei and his children would been executed if Bran told anyone the truth. That's why he is one of my favourites:) and sorry for grammar mistakes, english is not my mother tongue:)
@stanislavgalev94587 жыл бұрын

He's always been my favourite character, especially in the books where his arc is far better written. He's probably the most famous example of GRRMs love for grey characters. The first book makes him outwardly despicable, book 2 gives us the first look into makes him tick during his chapter with Catelyn and you realise there's far more to him than meets the eye - he's no stereotypical villain. Then the epic ness of book 3 reveals his thoughts for the first time and we realise he is no villain at all, more a tragic hero who turned against a world who despised him for his greatest act by living up to the monster they perceived him to be. Then the most recent books have him genuinely trying to become a better man, to improve the Kingsguard and set out to not only stick to his oath to Catelyn Stark but also attempt to distance himself from Cersei.

Jaime is a true hero. He's not what they want, he's what they need. In the end that's what makes him great, what makes him such a hero. He knows he'll be hated for what he does, but he refuses to break. People may curse him, but at the end of the day he is more of a hero than Ned or Jon.
