I think what I like about the “makeup” part of “makeup and movies” is it makes you feel like you’re just kinda hanging out with a friend getting ready together and joking around or whatever. I think the makeup part of it does add a little something to it, not even because of the makeup itself, just the general vibe it creates.

To be honest, I never considered you to be part of the beauty community. I considered you to be a Jenna Marbles kind of category. You’re here to do your own thing, have fun, chat, discuss movies, basically do your own thing, and that happened to include makeup. Jenna marbles has nothing on Jamie’s makeup tho… Jenna openly stated she was not the best with makeup, where Jamie practiced techniques and has a vast collection and is educated in cosmetology, and even had/has collaborations with products for makeup/cosmetology companies… so she was pretty active in the community in my experience. So I get where Jamie is comin from 😮 but I still get what you mean and where you’re coming from too! Her comedy and personality (like Jenna) is what really makes you fall in love with her and keeps you coming back 🥰

Hey girl. I discovered you during "pandy" (aka the pandemic for future viewers) and I must say I totally felt this video because I was vicariously reliving my young adulthood. Dropped out of school. Pursued my dream job as a makeup artist because I loved makeup and thought it would be fun and stress-free, until it became an obligation which eventually led to my unhappiness. It was no longer fulfilling, and I was one crazy bridezilla away from having a mental breakdown. I don't do makeup any more, and I rarely wear it, but what I did discover is that I love color and being creative in general and that can be applied to so many other avenues that I want to explore. And apparently I have talents I was not aware of until they were pointed out to me. Here I am pushing 40 and have jump started my life for the umpteenth time. Don't allow yourself to be put in a box. You don't have to be stuck in one career for the rest of your life. Be brave, girl. It's okay if you lose people on your journey, just don't lose yourself. I love your personality. You have me legit laughing out loud FR FR. I look forward to your new content and future endeavors. 🥰

Hi Jaime, I just wanted to let you know that I have recently become a fan because of your movie reviews. I just had twins in March and one of them has high medical needs and is still in the NICU. While being at home with my other two kids and husband, I slipped into some serious post partum depression. I discovered your makeup and movies series and I learned what it was to laugh again. I could tell my husband was so happy to see me acting like myself! I started saving your makeup and movies videos as a treat for me to watch on the weekend and shared them with many of my friends! My husband and I even noticed movies you reviewed, went and watched them and then watched your review so we could enjoy it more. It turned into a really fun thing for us during a hard time. I recently started making VERY amateur KZbin videos, mainly talking about being a stay at home mom (because that's the only thing I'm doing now days) Anyhow, your videos inspired me to embrace my inner weirdness, because I love to make people laugh and feel good. I can relate to this feeling sooo much! A few years ago, I lost a decent amount of weight and shared that journey on Instagram. People started following me specifically for fitness motivation and out of nowhere fitness became the ONE THING I was known for. If I ever ate something unhealthy I felt guilty or like I was “lying” to my audience. If I wasn’t constantly “improving” my body or talking about working out, I felt like I was letting my followers down. If my weight every fluctuated back up, I’d literally avoid leaving my house out of fear of being “outed”. I slowly shifted from posting about fitness to posting about my mental health, but I never really addressed the fact that I literally HATE “dieting” and sharing fitness advice was so depressing and unfulfilling. This video really makes me want to post something similar for my audience. Love your videos! And I’m so excited for you to do what feels most authentic to you!

Ok so this is sorta taken from another comment. “Eric theRed” in your comments wrote that Tammy should review movies and that got me thinking….. You could have Tammy review good movies and she can end up missing the entire point or completely misunderstanding the entire movie. Trish…she’d be great at reviewing bad movies but she’d end up loving the movie. And if they haven’t already “met” on camera, THAT would be HILARIOUS! I loved the makeup too, I especially loved when she did makeup product hauls because I saw her as more than a beauty youtuber from the start, because she is genuinely hilarious and I really enjoy her movie and makeup videos for her commentary not just the looks as well… but the reason I loved the hauls is directly because of how she does a few different things on her channel whether she ties in makeup with them or not. It made me trust her product reviews and commentary, her advice on how to get the best possible results using a product/how to apply in order to achieve that look, and honestly just whether or not she sees a product as worth buying/re-purchasing. A lot of beauty influencers who do strictly that have bias towards certain brands and companies, or they have something to gain from a good review- and unfortunately that PR or whatever it is they want to gain is worth more to many beauty creators than being honest on their platforms to the audience , who is consistently watching them and trusting them. I mean don’t get me wrong I would be absolutely over the moon if I got PR from any makeup companies..makeup is hella expensive but I just love it; however I have a crazy guilty conscience and I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I put out a video where I used a product I actually hate and used fallacies to give it a gleaming review while somehow also making it look good & suggesting it to subs even if I had a small platform. Recommendations on KZbin makes people of all ages spend money, I hate that some influencers don’t care about telling people to spend money on some they dislike and wouldn’t ever purchase themselves. Jaime is one of the only people who i wholeheartedly trusted with product reviews. I wonder if she might do an occasional video playing with makeup once she gets the spark back in doing so. Not even scheduled uploading or anything just whenever if ever she feels like it. I can understand if not though because people may start expecting it

@@meggswaggs5965 it's so sad that makeup is slowly losing interest. My friends have stopped wearing it and became "no makeup gals". The true art of makeup is just fading away and it makes me sad. It's ok to not wanna do makeup but it feels quite lonely in my friend group being the only one left wearing art on my face. It's not always about insecurity, there was a stereotype that wearing makeup is for insecure people. It can boost confidence (come on now waking up in the morning isn't pretty) and express creativity.

@@mahdireza5695 I feel like it’s because of how it seems like “makeup” has turned into literally everyone doing the same “kardashian style” brown and neutral toned or sunset orangey copper Smokey eyes look, and not so much being creative anymore. It’s like everyone looks like a clone there’s no more originality in a lot of makeup content and when there is a talented and unique makeup influencer, people start expecting so much so fast from them that it takes all the fun and joy out of it trying to achieve other people’s expectations as opposed to doing looks they are gonna enjoy. I get it and I would love to see the overlined lip heavily bronzed kardashian clone look really fade away from the limelight it has had the last couple of years. Everyone likes a brown smoked out look for like every day but that’s just not full glam to me and not what I want to see in GRWM, makeup story times, or especially not in tutorials since it’s so easily achieved by even inexperienced teens lol

To be honest, the first video of yours I ever watched was the “tiny hands” makeup and it was the hardest I’d laughed in a long time.
