Miriam Makeba born March 4, 1932 in Johannesburg, South Africa and died November 9, 2008 in Castel Volturno, Italy, is an ethno-jazz singer and a South African political activist, She is sometimes nicknamed "Mama Afrika" and her full name is Zenzile Makeba Qgwashu Nguvama. Forced into exile for thirty years, she travels the world and multiplies the musical success. It becomes especially one of the voices against apartheid and for the pride of the African continent. She returned to South Africa in 1990.

I guess it’s because France, and European countries in general, have the mentality that music, movies, etc., are art and not just entertainment. Ps before apartheid was abolished propaganda was very common so It is very strange that anyone at all of white ethnisitity was involved in the abolition of apartheid nervertheless, it's a fact. Well the turned into a meaningless rant fast .-. I'm sorry I you had to read this much I was very very bord. More random facts the ANC currant governing party in south africa was a terrorist organizations which kill many innocent people in bombings.

Miriam Makeba - Pata Pata watch?v=Zq5S5sH1Ikk Her most famous song, every South African loves it "Saguquga sathi bega nantsi Pata Pata" The part I like about Pata Pata the most is the click in "uh .. sah-gu- *click* -koo-gah" ("Sagu *q* uga sathi bega nantsi Pata Pata") Xhosa has three different click sounds in their language, which most second language speakers never really get right. -- EDIT: just realized I got to grow up with good music of the 80s... There is plenty of awesome music out there, especially electronic music... but the mainstream TOP40 like Katy Perry is empty and lacks substance. Personally prefer Brenda Fassie to Makeba ... both way better than mainstream stuff now watch?v=_7Fyoo_2XnE

Who doesn't know Myriam Makeba????!!!! I am shocked! It's like when people didn't know who Cesaria Evora was. Listen to the "click song" and look at what she did. This mama Africa would probably not like the singer and her very poor song compare to the master she was herself, nor Jain's father who was working in oil in Africa, that Makeba has denounced her life, stealing ressources with terrible consequences like we see today with the refugee crisis.

Plus on avance dans le temps, et plus cela devient difficile d'être original en matière de composition musicale.
