Correction: Suez can not handle either Cruise line OR Mothership carrying above 2 -4 lakhs of cargo or large Oil tanker above 2-4 lakhs tonnes of displacement. india itself has no port to handle mothership. Even Adani Mundra port depth is not enough to handle Mothership or Cruise line. Suej canal is good for only Mediterranean countries to trade with both europe and africa. It is useless for india and asia pacific & atlantic coast states. This I MEc corridor is best to carry goods by very large cargo train by using russian locomotive big boy! Thanks!!

Aaliya, Indians have recently seen the hatred that Pakistanis have for India and Indians. The recent incident involving Harris Rauf is a case in point. He abused Indians in public thereby showing his inherent hatred. Mass hatred of India and Indians indoctrinated over years through school, media, news papers has resulted in a public opinion that never would favor any kind of rapproachment with India. Even MFN status mandated by WTO was not granted due to the misperceived meaning of "Most favored" in MFN! Imran Khan we are told was about to open up trade with India when he was the PM by Shah M Qureishi reminded him that Khan would lose his political capital if he did so. Khan had to retract. So, stop bemoaning that Pk could have joined IMEC. This route and the other one that goes from Mumbai via Iran to Russia are meant to bypass Pakistan.

What about the International North South Transport Corridor ( INSTC ) ? That's what Chabahar is for. At two ends Russia and India and it goes through Iran , Afghanistan and Central Asia . This too avoids China.

CPEC does not suit Pakistan. The route from China to Pk through the mountaineous areas of Himalayas is very treacherous, prone to frequent landslides. No movement of large size goods is possible (can happenonly via the sea route). So, why is China wanting this CPEC? As an alternative emergency route in case of war when the normal route thru' the Malacca Straits gets blocked. Pakistan gains nothng from CPEC.
