Tip: Hold R1 and Square, and spam L1 and the X button and move the analog stick.

basically yes, but if you just spammed it you'd get lower scores so you have to change it up each time.

Alright, so it does indeed work. Here's an extra tip from me - tape your square button down. I kid you not. It was pretty easy to do with a DualShock3. Technically cheating, but I don't know if I would have been able to do it if I had to hold square and spam X at the same time. Anyway, even after having done that, it still took me some 40 - 50 minutes of practice untill I got the gold. I was doing pretty much what's described in the video, but it took me a while to get a feel for what works best. I tried to get as many continuous grinds as possible. It seems to yield the best scores. I got as much as 27K for a single string. So while spamming try to guide Jak towards rails. You can adjust the camera slightly while on a rail to keep him from sliding off. But don't stand idle while not on a rail either - keep spamming pretty much at all times. Also, be careful not to hit R2 and put away the board, because you'll lose that combo. Feels pretty good to finally beat this challenge. Back on PS2 I concluded it was simply impossible and gave up. Now, let's see about those races...

The whole time I was spamming R1 not L1... No wonder this was insanely hard... Got it now tho. And here I was about to make a mod for OpenGOAL so I could do a 10x multipluer on the base scores lol.

Honestly would love to know horrible dev responsible for this whole thing in the game. All it really does is show how shit the hoverboard acutally is. Like grind button not working and shit glitching out. edit: Tried for 4+ hours. I guess i will never 100% jak 2 because its impossible.

Seems to me when I try this the game ignores the L1 moves and just does the flips and spins, and it doesn't seem to count grinding either so I'm just doing a bunch of junps, getting no points, and when I do its 50 or so. Maybe I'm pressing the buttons too fast but this method doesn't work for me like it does for you

once you do the same movements to much it lowers your points until it gives nothing, so then you have to switch around the buttons you press.... not really checked this video very often, but it looks like everyone else is says it works, maybe you didn't follow the video proper, but it should work for you.
