I think the biggest problem with Jak X is the infamous memory card glitch. On certain models of the PS2, the autosave is bugged so that the game never stops autosaving, which has the potential to corrupt the player's entire memory card.

Played this for the first time round a month ago. I played it for an hour then I had to go do something else, I kinda forgot I had it and lost interest. I dug it out when my friend came over yesterday, HOLY SHIT. The multiplayer is insane and is worth owing just for that.

+Kri Par That's one of the weird things about the Jak storyline. It's really straightforward until the Jak 1-Jak 2 transition. Basically, Jak was born in Haven City not long before the setting of Jak 2, and he was destined to destroy the Metal Head leader and be the master of eco. However, Jak was too young to face Kor in time, so he and Samos travel back in time a few thousand years so Jak 1 can take place. Everything after Jak 2 is unrelated to the time travel (Mar who built Haven City is NOT the same "Mar" as Jak.) Also, I like to pretend The Lost Frontier is non-canon since it wasn't developed by Naughty Dog and it's just garbage making it a glorified fan-game.

Orbs actually do save up. I used to think they didn't too, but then I noticed it's just that the winnings screen is confusing. Naturally you look at the bottom line and think "that's what I won this round" but it's actually your total saved up orbs, whereas it's one of the *other* lines that tells you what you won for that race, which will always be a nice round number.

Daxtery Toon there IS a way to bypass the autosave glitch. Simply load your profile and then remove your mem afterwards. The game will tell you autosave has been disabled and then you just reinsert your mem when youre ready to save manually

Jak X is classified as a spin off because it's a racing game. Spin off games doesn't necessarily refer to non-canon it instead means that's its different from the rest of the series.

Ya made two mistakes in this: 1. Ya only need the save file of Ratchet Gladiator to unlock Ratchet as a playable character. Look at his outfit. 2. Krew said that Rayn had to POUR for 3 seconds in her glass to avoid poisoning. Whoever drank first had nothing to do with this.

When I first played jak x and ratchet deadlocked I thought they were 4th installments in the series because the way the stories were written, character interactions and tones felt like it. But when I heard they were spinoffs and that jak and daxter the lost frontier and ratchet and clank tools of destruction were the actual 4ths I thought WHAT? I mean I like tools of destruction, never played lost frontier, but come on. I get since they went with a different gameplay style that it could be a spinoff but crash team racing changed the gameplay and it's not considered a spinoff.

I tried playing Jak 3 once - as my first Jak game, no less - but I just couldn't get into it. Spending the first ten minutes doing a few arena challenges to teach me how the ridiculously fleeting Dark powers worked and then making me run errands in vehicles for the next two hours, before the iconic duo ventured into some sort of jungle-volcano-ruins hodgepodge for... well, SOME reason, because the plot seemed to be largely downplayed and cryptic to the point where I just couldn't give a crap about the story if I tried. It wasn't Kingdom Hearts style middle finger to my face kind of cryptic, but still pretty bad. And then there was that part in that city where Daxter had to ride a missile, which just didn't seem to turn correctly and cost me sixteen 'lives' in the space of five minutes. I'm not impatient, but that - on top of what I just found to be an uninteresting game overall in spite of its apparent legacy - was what drove me to quit and just not come back. Sorry, Jak fans, but I'll take Crash, Ratchet and (regardless of how far he's fallen) Spyro over whoever and whatever J&D are any day. And spare me the hateful backlash, please, Jak fans. As a sentient human being, I'm allowed to have a dissenting opinion, so please, don't act like a bunch of Metroid Prime fans, who would spam my inbox with nostalgia-driven hate before I could fucking blink. Show how mature you can be by respecting the fact that not everyone loves what you do.

If you said that if history would repeat itself, then it sort of happened! First, Crash Bandicoot 1, 2, 3 were released and then CTR (Kart racer) was released. Jak 1, 2, 3 were released and then a kart racer! Coincidence? I think not!!
