I gotta agree with you that the "schizo" already comes off pretty bad nowadays but the Wikipedia definition isn't "bad" at all, it's about sound. "Schizophonia is a term coined by R. Murray Schafer to describe the splitting of an original sound and its electroacoustic reproduction."
