I took almost the same journey, only difference is I went by train from jogja to malang and from malang to banyuwangi. Thank you for this video. This brings back so many happy memories.

The amount of info provided here really amazes me. I hope you enjoy your travel in Indonesia. The train set you're riding uses the latest train set made by PT INKA, a local train manufacturer, using the new bogie to dampen the shaking. And it works apparently. Try the older train sets, which are still plenty in operation, and you will once again travel by train in SEA. 😊

Thank you for watching. The ride on Indonesian trains was actually comfortable. It was fast and I didn't feel any stress. After actually riding the train, I thought Indonesia makes good trains. I was particularly surprised at how punctual the trains were. I only rode in Executive Class, but I thought the management was great, with the conductor coming to each car to greet passengers and there being on-board sales from carts. I plan to go to Indonesia again, and next time I'll try to ride a luxury train.

For direct train from Jakarta to Ketapang (only 100 meters to ketapang port to cross to Bali) you can take 16h40m Blambangan Express train Depart from Jakarta Pasar Senen Station at 12:15 in the afternoon and arrived 4:55 in the morning. The you can take a ferry from the port to cross into Bali an from the port you can take a Bus to Denpasar. But tbhwu this journey is very tiring. You can't get a good sleep because every time the train stops at a station the announcement will wake you up.
