I have used this blender. There is no need to press the stop button while using the programs, it will stop on it's own when it's done. I guess he was just too excited to wait and find out. Also the self clean mode works wonders if you put a couple ice cubes in with the soapy water!

@Kawaiilolrofl I was honest. I said it didn't make the snow. I also said I wanted a longer cord. It is a good blender. Not sure where you think I was biased. I told Farberware if it sucked I was saying so. The are not a sponsor and I did not get anything for it.

Hello A lot of blenders have problems with ice. I can only suggest trying with the filler cap off and dropping the ice in after switching it on. When you made the smoothie and shake you used the programme buttons so I would have expected it to turn itself off? Andy C

Nice product. I think with maybe 1/4 of the ice it would have made snow. The problem with most blenders is that the blades are all at the bottom and as such anything too big gets stuck while the blades obliterate anything close to them. I think thats why the Ninja is so handy with the mutliple levels of blades. Though It would have been nice to see the soup setting. Wonder if thats like on the Vitamix where you just set it and it uses friction to keep the soup hot.

@jakatak69 jack i think your only suposed to put in a little bit of ice, not halfway up. otherwise it clumps together. im not really sure because i never used a blender but try it less then half maybe you could get better results.

If you're talking about the smoothie having ice, I think it's because he didn't let the program run. He stopped it. It's a program mode that will pulse a number of times and then stop.

My first kitchen knife was a $9 Farberware Santoku, it sucked wiener. I've upgraded to my Cold Steel K5 and haven't looked back. I don't buy kitchen knives generally, but I buy knives and Cold Steel makes some of the best knives around and some of there lower end knives are pretty cheap and make good impromptu kitchen knives such as the Cold Steel Roach Belly. Definitely recommend buying a Cold Steel Kitchen knife off of ebay and review it Jack, you won't be disappointed

It wont reach around the microwave! Jack, my kichen is about as small as your viewrs can see. My kitchen is about 10 feet long by 61/2 feet wide so im not sure how this blender would work for me.

I think the product did a great job and you could see at the bottom that the ice did in fact turn to snow, but it was a very small amount. Oh I have been watching a lot of smoothie videos and if you add the liquid ingredients first there shouldn't be ice bits in it:) Just a tip, great review Jack!

You may have heard this before but I didn't look at all comments.. . Cool tip with swirling the glass with hot fudge! And did you give the blender enough time to see if it would stop automatically on the setting for Smoothie and Shake? You mentioned ice in the smoothie, would it have stopped when it was just right, or did you stop it because you thought it was enough blending? Short cords seem to the norm now-days due to safety, they say, like we all trip over our coffee pot cord :p

@jakatak69 Actually I don't think Cold Steel makes a santoku knife, unfortunately. They're more of a pocket knife/machete/sword company than a kitchen knife company so they kind of ignore their Kitchen knives (most of them are discontinued). I think you can find the 8 inch chef's knife for about $25 and it's a rather large knife. Also thanks for replying to my comment, I really wanted you to consider purchasing or trying a cold steel knife because they are amazing

Actually, that depends on what you constitute as healthy. Is healthy determined by you gaining/losing weight or having sufficient nutrients in your body? Because peanuts/nuts of any kind are generally heavier and more calorie dense than milk and on occasion ice cream, yet they're good for you on the nutrient side.

It is my hunch the cord is not longer for fire safety or UL compliance purposes. Longer cords mean more resistance, you would get more heat in the cord, especially since it appears this has a powerful motor and likely draws a good amount of current. I'm not fond of the idea of using an extension cord with it, that's just adding more resistance and most extension cords are not suitable for kitchen appliance situations. So you have an overheating and potentially even a fire risk. I would suspect manufacturers of kitchen products such as this know a longer cord would be a convenience and perhaps a selling point. That tells me it is short for safety's sake.

+Thomas Davis When it comes to connection cables, it's perfectly fine to go down one gauge, as long as it's shorter than 10ft (if i remember it right). Adding a couple of feet won't do such as a dramatic change that it sounds you think it does. After all, an istallation cable can be 500ft before it has step up a gauge. (As a rule of thumb, it depends on the pre-impedance, shorting current and a couple of other factors.)
@todd_the_wraith
@todd_the_wraith 8 жыл бұрын
+Thomas Davis max amperage it can draw is 10 amps. usually these things have a converter in there somewhere that boosts amperage (it's why a desktop PC with a 450W power supply is on a 10amp circuit, but the PSU outputs 37 amps. don't lick it.)

I can see that everyone drank their Haterade today. Everyone needs to lighten up. Throwing around insults on KZbin, while you're watching a BLENDER REVIEW, is friggin childish. FYI, I bought the Hamilton Beach Wave Action 12 speed blender/chopper combo a few years ago, and I love it. It retails for $50, but I got it on sale for $40. It does the job of a blender AND a food processor, all in one.
