***** He doesn't need a reason to comment on a KZbin video. The comment section is open for anyone to use, and that's exactly what he's doing. Obviously he admires Jake's talent, and wants to express his admiration via the comment section. Is that a deep enough reason for you and Domingo F?

I find his lyrics meaningful/soulful and his melodic sense is what's been missing from music for 30 years. I can't stand the way "Broken" was recorded - way too much reverb on the vocal but, yet, it puts in tears three bars in. Incredible

The amount of classic and iconic songs that happen by accident will amaze you. My friends still performing are obsessed with a 'professional' sound where I prefer to just let the vibe take me wherever it goes, generally take whatever comes out at the end and try and write something before I'm out of the moment.

Stuck in speed bump city Where the only thing that's pretty Is the thought of getting out There's a tower block overhead All you've got's your benefits And you're barely scraping by In this trouble town Troubles are found In this trouble town Words do get 'round Kick the bottom make troubles flee Smoke until our eyes would bleed Sparkle pop the seed Hear the sirens down the street The kids get light on their feet Or they'll be in the back seat In this trouble town Troubles are found Sitting on the pavement Boy you've missed your payment And they're gonna find you soon If there's a beating in the rain If there's a little bit of pain, man You're the one it happens to If I talk of getting out I only hear the laughter loud It's gotten ugly at home Somewhere there's a secret road To take me far away I know But til then I am hollow In this trouble town Troubles are found In this trouble town Fools are found Sitting on the pavement Boy you've missed your payment And they're gonna find you soon If there's a beating in the street If there's a feeling of defeat You're the one it happens to Stuck in speed bump city Where the only thing that's pretty Is the thought of getting out

People write that they heard it on 'Happy Valley' but I heard it for the first time on the unaired pilot of the American TV show 'Hatfields & McCoys' from 2013. It's here on KZbin if you want to watch it. The idea was quite good but they should have made it a Western, and it would have been picked up by the network then, in my opinion. Anyway, brilliant song! Greetings from Poland!

The lyrics are great. How can one argue with "Stuck in speed bump city where the only thing that's pretty is the thought of getting out"? Or...."it's got an ugly echo"? This is the kind of stuff you'd hear on the back roads in the rural south. Raw, real and meaningful. Not just yelling and having a fit. It's telling a story with artistry and skill.

This kinda takes me back fifty years ago to the folk movement. The big time music producers are going to hate it if it takes off again. They are the real stars of the top 40, not the song and dance artists who front their drivel. This stuff doesn't need bells and whistles, thunder and lightning, sound FX and a fancy video with half naked people strutting around. It has all it needs: heart and soul.

Thought Jake Bugg was just another teen pop shit person, using Bob Dylan influences as a "coolness veil" (my own little phrase). But this song is genuinely great (it does help that it was the Happy Valley theme tune, gives him more credibility to be associated with a show like that)

At least he knows who Bob Dylan was and good he took his inspiration from him. Now take Jake Bugg for who he is and his own music. Thankfully still young musicians who take songwriting seriously. Jake Bugg will stay in music.

Dear Universal music Group. I am special agent Bugg, I have successfully infiltrated the hearts and minds of those who you have failed to win over in the past. By posing as the arch-nemesis to the mass-produced pop and pretending I'm an authentic and "real" song writer, I have convinced these people that I am the saviour of music. They are yet to realise that I am massively manufactured to present this image. By criticising others for not writing their own songs, I have successfully distracted them from my 3 man team of songwriters who assisted me in writing "my" songs. The image you carefully manufactured for me, has been a huge success, and those who question me are considered to not know "real music" thanks to the self-perpetuating myth of my genius. A myth you and the NME created, I thank you again for that. Adding noises to my record to make it sound poorly recorded and "real" has endeared me to millions. They are yet to realise that this makes my music just as manufactured as the pop songs they despise. My carefully chosen words and persona in interviews has convinced them that I am the answer to the problems in modern music and that I am the new Bob Dylan (even with my 3 man team of co-writers!). My songs about having a tough life, drugs, the police etc have made them forget that I am only a child and my only experience of any of these things was in my grand theft auto video game. Also, thank you for vetoing my suggestion of a song about the very hungry caterpillar, I appreciate now that my life must be presented in a certain way to win their affection. My tales of a "terrible" life growing up in a first world country with food, water, shelter and an education was another master-stroke. They think I've had a hard life and this makes them like me even more. They surely do not know the meaning of a hard life. Your mission has been a success, we have pulled the wool over their eyes. The decline of genuine song writers throughout the land has been assured, they are condemned to playing in pubs for another 10 years. I hail your glorious victory Yours special agent Bugg ( I can't take credit for this, i got this from a review on Amazon. Credit where its due)
