All i can do when listening to these old Gaither songs is cry and cry. Such beautiful and intimate moments! I want to make heaven my home and finally get to meet these 3 gentlemen and all those who have passed before and after them. May God bless all of you reading this comment. ❤

I'm not special , My father was a Gospel Music 🎶 producer and promoter , So I had the privilege of growing up around Jake Hess , Hovie , James Blackwood Sr. And about 1 , 000 other singers you would know by hearing them . I would like to say , What you see and hear is what you get ! Jesus blessed our generation with Godly , Anointed Music about Him ! So listen to these wonderful anointed songs and be blessed by them !

I had many great friends of this era , James Blackwood and Jake Hess were two of the top men as I grew up . My father being a producer and promotor of Southern Gospel Music , It was easy for me to learn about this industry . These are some of the meekest people you would ever know . Although I knew of the conection with Elvis Presley , They would never talk about him , Mostly to allow Elvis his privacy , But it all came out when Elvis died . These two men , And many of my other friends sang at Graceland Mansion for the family and friends privet home funeral . And what a blessed time it was for the family .

Then I Met The Master was written by my parents when they were on their honeymoon in Puerto Rico in the summer of 1960. My mother wrote the first verse in Flemange. My mother wrote the chorus in Flemish. The second verse was written in Letzeberguesh. My parents worked together to translate the chorus into Sweitzendeutch. Then there is a line in Norwegian. Then the chorus is translated into Alsacian. My father composed the tune.

When I first met the Master I was lying on my mothers' sofa heart broken as I fell asleep a while later that night the dead heat enter by body it rose from the soles of my feet to my top of my head. I then sensed I was leaving my body. Then SUDDENLY the MASTER came and BLEW into my ear. He had revived me and He said I AM COMING SOON. From that moment on I have persued Him with all my heart since that day. He is my life and my song Jesus of Nazareth my Saviour and Friend.

Yes, I am ready to meet the Master in Heaven, but He says, no, not yet my child. I will be ready when the time comes. My only regret is that I did not accept Jesus sooner in my life, but I do not hold on to that regret, instead I am simply thankful and blessed that I did make that decision before it was too late. I am now 80 and I was 67 so I am proof that it doesn't matter what age you are, Jesus is waiting for you.

All three of them are heroes of the faith. Amazing voices and students of vocal technique. James Blackwood worked with a voice teacher every week almost until he passed. Glenn Payne had such terrific technique that he never missed a concert or service with a sore throat. And Jake with his big voice and range was one of a kind. There are some younger singers like Ivan Parker and others who have carried the torch onward. But these three can't be surpassed.

+Richard OHara That is Cynthia Clawson. I cant remember which songs they were, but I do remember hearing her sing on some of the Gaither Videos. All you can do is keep searching and you'll eventually come across them like I did.. She does have her own website if you'd like to see. You could also type her name into KZbin and they will show you some of her videos. She's a really great singer, in my opinion.

zigmeala Although she has a brief solo on "Precious Memories", her feature song is actually on the second video of that concert called "Sing Your Blues Away". The song, " It Won't Rain Always" has become a signature song for Janet Paschal, but Cynthia Clawson's haunting vocal quality makes this rendition particularly poignant. Its also on Ms Clawson's solo album "River of Memories" and at least one other Gaither video (and here on KZbin) and is one of my personal favorites. She also sings a song called "Hear the Voice of My Beloved" which is perfectly suited for her voice and has been a blessing to me as well.
