While you are doing everything you can to make him weaker. Whether or not it makes a difference is a separate issue. The attempt to weaken your opponent means you can't act like you want him at his best, like you're after the challenge.

I know. Same can be said even after watching the fucking greg hardy fight that hasim lost, the way hasim fought in round 1 in that fight was beautiful. Also greg had over 100 pounds on hasim which was crazy lmao, but hasim still but up a decent fight even just for one round and he survived till the end. Hasim would have beat jake to a pulp way worse then tommy did, because let's be honest the tommy fight wasn't even a completely dominant performance. You misunderstood what he meant when he said "if you were all that" ... he said it immediately after Jake blurted out his "I shouldn't win this fight, he's a heavyweight" routine. Hasim wasn't complaining about the weight he agreed to, he just said if you forced me down to this weight you don't get to say "he's a heavyweight". Everything in the fight contract (200lbs weigh in + no higher than 214lbs rehydration clause) ensures Jake won't be fighting heavyweight Hasim. Jake was shut down in that presser, started looking around him and mumbling "you sound so stupid" and "who knows you", talking about followers. He usually get the upper hand in pressers because he's immature and dumb, you can never win an argument against a dumb kid, but with Hadim exposing all the contractual handicaps, Jake didn't have anything. Also, not letting a guy rehydrate isn't "fair", it's downright dangerous. Jake wanted to "fight a heavyweight", he should accept that a heavyweight that can somehow make 200lbs will shoot back up on fight day. You can't have it both ways and still have it be called fair.

Jake believes that since he’s been sparing for 2-3 years he has real event boxing experience. Sparing does nothing to compare to an actual match. Jake has 4 wins under his belt? 3 or 4 I can’t exactly remember. But that does not compare to 100 amateur fights. And 11-1 in professional matches that Hassim has… that’s just my take.

Honestly Rahman JR is closer to a cruiser weight than a modern heavy weight, Gassiev, Okolie and and even some one like Papin are around the same size or even bigger. But Jake Paul is still a small cruiser weight and could make Light Heavy if some one like yarde could, so they are still around a big weight class apart.

Jake has the mental mindset of a champion and has consistently worked his craft for the last two years. At the same time, Jake needs to show us boxing skills aside from KO power based on the previous Woodley fight. Rahman's last fight showed good fundamentals with zero gas tank. I applaud Jake for challenging himself and Rahman for taking the fight and not backing down like Tommy Fumbles. I go back on forth on who I think will win....This will be a good fight to watch.

People dont realize how much of a disadvantage it is to not only drop weight but also be dehydrated. If anyone has ever been dehydrated before you would know how incredibly weak it makes you. Ive been hospitalized for dehydration before, I couldnt even lift my arms and had fainted. Dehydrated= Weak. Thats a fact.

Honestly I think Jake and his team didn't think Hasim was gonna take the fight. No ppv money, if he is 2 lbs over the rehydration clause he only makes 5k, he has to cut a bunch of weight, and coming off a loss and it was a take it now or never fight him deal. With all those reasons they figured no way he takes the fight and then Jake can dog him for not wanting to fight him. That actually was probably the worst thing they could have done was lowball him cause now he isn't gonna take it easy, Hasim is determined to beat him cause what does he have to lose? He gets 0% of the ppv buys that alone is a slap in the face to a real boxer. You could tell by the look Logan had on his face that he knows Jake's in trouble. I'm not saying Jake isn't a fighter but he might have screwed this one up.

Clearly you haven't seen any of Rahman Jr.'s fights Lmao. Jake made a smart choice. Rahman is very slow and flat-footed. Yeah, he's powerful, but he welcomes so many unnecessary shots in his fights and constantly gets off balance. Unless Rahman took that loss in his last fight very seriously and has taken the time to improve his defense and mobility, the chances of Jake winning are actually much higher than what many people think imo.

having looked at Hasim Rahman Jr.'s record, he's fought mostly tin cans (almost all his opponents have lost way more than they've won so it's a super weak 12-1) until his last fight which of course he not only lost but looked very slow. There's a reason Jake is a big betting favourite here, huge weight cut-rehydration clause/short camp no prep/jake's wins over woodley are far better than anything he's accomplished despite him not been a boxer Jake will TKO this guy within three, just look at how slow he is in his last fight, Jake will go to the body because of the weight cut/RC and take him out while using his superior footwork to stay out of range. The Tommy Fury fight would have been tough for Jake but it's another gimme for the problem child.
