Thank god it's addressed that the guise of being "the nice guy" Alex has during face-offs and press conferences just isn't real or genuine. He purposefully talks a lot of shit about his opponents in interviews where they aren't around and then stays silent during the faceoffs, relying on all the pent-up anger from his opponents wanting to address the shit he's said without ever fighting back to make them come off as unhinged, while he stays the humble one. The strategy even confused Deji, after the face-off it was clear he didn't even remember why he was supposed to be angry at Alex. The fake standing-up for Deji to paint KSI as an unempathetic brother while eventually dismissing KSI as "big Deji" as if Deji himself was nothing to him just shows it and I'm glad KSI at least sees what Alex is trying to do

I think I have a good theory as to why some members of your audience weren't enthusiastic to see your antics with Alex Wasabi and it's very simple. When you were fighting Joe Weller or Logan, you were the underdog in all the fights for various reasons and even if you acted the same way, your audience viewed it as confidence because they could resonate with you being the underdog. But with this Alex fight, you're clearly the A-side and have all the advantages, so the audience views your antics as arrogant because they see Alex as the underdog, which is more of a reflection of how many members of your audience view themselves. Even if you did annihilate Alex, you'll see less memes about it because your audience won't want to make fun of someone they see themselves in Hope that makes sense!

Agreed. That's the main difference between his other opponents and Alex. Both Joe, Logan and Jake were just as pumped and "arrogant"(as some people would say) as JJ. So when they would interact it would be a constant back and forth between two "equally matched" forces. If JJ screams Logan would scream back. But in Alexes case he was just quiet. Dude never lashed out, never even tried to get back at JJ he just took it. So what was supposed to be a engaging interview ended becoming a one sided smackdown of JJ talking shit and Alex just taking it. And yes while you could argue that that is also entertaining, after like 5 minutes it just becomes boring and "cringe". Why? Because nothing changes. It's still just JJ screaming to himself while Alex takes it in the ass. There is no actually tension. No engagement. It just makes JJ look like and arrogant asshole. So really if it's anyones fault it's Alex for not even trying to fight back against JJ and ultimately making the f2f the shitshow it became.
