Speaking of Jake Paul: I'd really like to see him fight NOTHING. And for him to just disappear into obscurity and no longer be a factor in popular culture! That'd be nice, innit.
@thelemon00015 күн бұрын
I keep seeing his name being mentioned all over the internet but I still don't know who he is to this day. It's just a buzz word for "generic controversial celebrity" at this point.

ross's question of morality vs sportsmanship was really interesting. Because yeah, it's morally OK (fighting someone who might not be 100% strong compared to you) but it's certainly not very sportsmanlike. They're ALLOWED to fight but it's still not interesting (beyond the interest that was built or existed)

what the fuck is a pantomime in the UK? cause from context clues it don't sound anything like a pantomime in the US???
@awesomeaartvark5 күн бұрын
I was wondering the same thing, haha, tho to be fair, I'm not sure I know exactly what pantomime is here in the US either?? I thought that was like, miming stuff or maybe like physical comedy like clowns or something. But what they're describing sounds way different so now I'm questioning everything lol

Yeah to be honest I'd love a US translator for lots of Yogs conversations! Maybe that could be a members feature??

A panto is a type of theatre, usually aimed at kids. I'd say in particular with panto you have a lot of audience interaction (a classic is "He's behind you!" Where the audience shout out to the oblivious main character that the villain/whatever is behind them on stage). Generally you might get some more direct 4th wall breaks as well, and plenty of jokes and wordplay for the adults. In my local ones there'll be recurring skits and such as well that break away from the story. Also sorry, but unless I'm wrong they're usually fairy tales. Oh and there'll be a "dame" character, like the mother of the main character, who should be played by a big Scottish bloke. All in all they're great family fun, definitely something I miss from the UK.
