This makes me understand what Ddee is saying when he talks about how PT is Steve's worst matchup. The only thing I'm shocked at is that Charizard wasn't used slightly more than he was. F tilt and bair going straight through the blocks is amazing against Steve, especially when both are amazing kill moves

Much of Steve's strategy is to camp and mine from a distance behind blocks, but then when you focus on removing the blocks, Steve rushes in for a long combo and tons of damage. My guess as to why Charizard wasn't used as often is because Charizard f tilt and bair have a lot of lag afterwards, and Charizard doesn't have a great "get off me" move to box with Steve in close quarters. So Charizard works well if you can maintain distance, but he's vulnerable the moment Steve rushes in. Ivysaur's side b has a longer range than Charizard f tilt and bair, and Ivysaur fair can wipe out multiple blocks instantly with decent range, and Ivysaur nair and bair are perfect when Steve rushes in. Also, Ivysaur up b is super helpful for safe recoveries and attacking from under the ledge to get back onto the stage safely. Charizard's recovery is too linear.

The reason isn't so much that zard v steve is bad, it's more of which is easier, pressing razor leaf and never touching steve's shenanigans with a 50 ft pole, or have decent tools to deal with steves shenanigans but still have to engage with steve's shenanigans.
