I like how Jake Tapper seamlessly included Sona and Gourley in the conversation the whole episode. A lot of guests have great chemistry with Conan. I think Tapper so far has had the best chemistry with the entire group. It does really feel like a group of people who should have been friends all along sitting down and talking.

What an incredible movie: bees causing a nuclear reactor to explode, bee-sting victims (Henry Fonda!) hallucinating giant bees opening doors, and Michael saying "I never thought it'd be the bees, they've always been our friends." I've not even watched this clip yet but this'll be right up my street. Jake Tapper, Matt, and Conan on The Swarm? Yes, please! Edit: I just watched it and they quoted one of those exact things! Love their "impressions". And a special bonus discussion of The Hand, too. Sona on Murdoch: "He sucks!" That should be a meme.

I believe in the movie, The Hand, Cain's wife was played by Andrea Marcovicci. She is a wonderful singer. Her major carer is to sing at classic venues like the Oak Room in NYC and at the Gardenia club in LA. Check her out. Andrea Marcovicci sings the movies is a lovely album. Unfortunately age is unavoidable so I'm not sure if she still performs. One of the greats.

Never saw The Swarm, but I *did* catch The Savage Bees. Roughly the same plot (New Orleans instead of Houston), but it ends with the bees swarming a Volkswagen as bait, and then the driver going into the Superdome and the indoor temperature is lowered to kill all of the bees.

The Swarm is near height of 70s disaster/ creature feature but nothing tops Day of the Animals. It's the summit of the genre. Lesli Nielson an the Georges "headline" the cast but the real stars are the animals in the prescient tale of the effects of climate change or maybe was it pesticide use or I think it was actually really about the Georges' copious use of hair spray. Regardless, nothing compares to this masterpiece not even Grizzly.
