I've generally just used keys to get shoulders for monster sets I've wanted to try/use. I think I've only done the 1 key a few times and not for a few years.

I have used them mainly for shoulders. I remembering having to do 8 tries for getting the maw of infernal shoulder. RNG in ESO seems often proving the opposite of what is needed.

Need to start hitting these up again. When I hit 45 I did a random normal dungeon a day or I'd queue for the specific Undaunted quest dungeon. I played a tank before any CP, and still was able to complete 90% of them (on normal, NOT the DLC dungeons). I also have an old gaming laptop and I lag a bit, just give it a shot. PUG life on Normal dungeons ain't bad. Now that I'm CP 300, (dinged that doing S. Elsweyr in prep for the next event, thanks Jake!) I'm sure I'd fare waaaay better.

And to add to that as a tank on normal dungeons, wear heavy armor, slot a taunt and a good heal, and you're going to he fine unless your group is just completely brain dead. Tank queues always popped in 60 secs or less, often times 30 secs or less. In general just taunt the boss, and face the boss opposite your group. For normal dungeons, you'll be fine.

Awesome vid, I do atleast 1 a day on normal and run it with a companion. I do not really attempt to run the DLC ones though since as you said the Base game ones are way easier from a mechanic perspective. I recently came back to the game from 2019 (I was new then) so I have been really focused on my build and soloing until I feel like I am groupworthy. I am sure I am overestimating what that really means. Thanks for the fun vid.

Wanted to make a note about the upcoming event. I think that Galen treasure maps are going to plummet in price after this event. By my calculations in the last couple of days a treasure map drops about 1/4 of the chewed bags the dragons drop. There’s going to be a lot of treasure maps being farmed so I see the Galen ones plummeting.

I'll admit I didn't bother with this area when I was new to the game. Now my friends and I do pledges regularly. Not only do you get keys, but transmute stones! I'm surprised you didn't mention those. They're super useful. It's also a good idea to unlock your Undaunted passives because they're pretty fantastic (and on that note, I'll politely disagree with you about Bolgrul being useless. Do his quests! They're easy and the loot box isn't great, but you can always use the extra boost for leveling up the Undaunted skill line faster).

All I got to say, if you gonna fake heal/fake tank in a vet pledge pug for a faster que, hit harder than 45k dps, hell even if you que as a dps, hit harder than 20k. I’m here for a good time not a long time. And for people who hate people who fake que- it’s the DPS fault, tanks and heals get sick of carry all y’all in an hour dungeon when it should be 15 mins - just because you have done it on vet doesn’t mean you don’t get carried.

getting eso on pc should i make my main char also my crafter? or make a alt just for crafting?

Crafter needs skill points to level up gear level, research time. My main is my crafter, grand master crafter even. That takes time and dedication and skill points and money (in game money so you can learn styles to eventually make writ vouchers to meet all the criteria for grand master crafter). The game in its current state will give you enough skill points to excell both in crafting and your chosen weapon/class combat skills. And generally unless you have iron will or don't care about chronology your main character will be a hot mess of did that so I can level up this specific skill line (antiquities, thieves guild, dark brotherhood and guilds related). Best to have all of that in one place.

I been making bank on these, seems like I get one every 3 boxes on average and I can sell them for 100k easy all day. Even thought about not doing writs anymore cuz I usually spend an hour doing that and then go do pledges on one toon and that takes my time on eso for the day but I could potentially make much more just running these. You forgot to mention the motifs you get from the boxes as well and also fyi if you Que as a healer just please be a dps, coming from a tank main. Don’t need a healer for these base game hard modes especially if you can just burn the boss in 5 seconds.

I just quick sell them, unless they’re something that’s kinda meta in a good trait and then I’ll save them. The shoulder motifs tho I sell or will save until after the shoulder has left the vendor

If you're a crafter with cp perks, decon the off-traits for the mats. This will almost always bring you more value, since most of these have more exotic style mats, like what you get when you decon any extra dungeon gear.

Never ever done a key, not after i was told i should stop playing ESO, and go play TETRIS. I am like 99.9% solo player now, with little over 600 champion points :(

I find it very annoying when you farm these keys all day for a specific monster set shoulder and lose the 50/50 everytime. They should really change how this works. you at least get the helmet guaranteed by running the associated dungeon on vet, granted it might not be the right weight. Why do I have to farm for an hour only to have a 50/50 chance of getting what I want? I don't understand the purpose of a gambling system in this way if there aren't any other ways to obtain the items. Not to mention, why limit the amount per day? There is actually no reason it has to be this way.
