Curse Of The Moon 2 OST: Chains Of Fire

Chains of fire is one of the most brutal skillchecks the game has to offer. Not only does it force you to get used to the new and improved zangetsu (and for those of you who played the first game and know what those attacks of his mean you'll realize very quickly why upgraded zangetsu is probably a bad thing) it also forces you to get used to character synergy. there are entire rooms that can only be handled by combining character abilities. Robert's duck and fire and dominique's wind attacks, hachi's hover, zangetsu's new three-hit combo serving as a sort of offensive shield, it all comes together here.
this level is so hard I spent two hours straight trying to run this without dying once, and believe me, it doesn't get any easier from here.

Fun fact, after this level the characters in the level loading screen are as exhausted as you are.

This is the point where I realized this game really wasn't fucking around. It didn't bring my progress to grinding halt or anything since I have more than enough experience in NES Castlevania and Curse of the Moon 1, but hoo boy... I definitely abused Hachi's invulnerability and Dominique's healing.

The new stages are pretty tricky with the new characters, but then becomes a cake walk with old characters, especially this stage with Alfred's ice spell and Gebel's flight.

Exactly. In most cases, Alfred Fire Spell is more useful than the Hachi Invincibility (is more cheap in the WP, cost)

From all the songs I heard during the levels, this one was the one I loved the most, it represents the hardship that our four protag have to endure. I would say that for me it's on par with Sunder the Night from the first game. Funny thing Sunder the Night was the fifth level and this one is the fifth level too.

Also don't go for that golden subweapon. they put that there on purpose to make you kill dominique early on. I've went for that thing so many fucking times that i just realized i should git gud instead of rely on that damned thing.

Ah, stage 5. It kicked my butt so hard I had to switch to casual difficulty! The boss was also really difficult, but I eventually learned how to beat it on veteran, at least.

Just losing one character on this stage makes this level unbearable as this is the level where the training wheels come off. I love the challenge though and was kind of worried that they might have made this game easier.

By my opinion, CotM2 soundtrack is a lot better. In CotM only 3 noticeable tracks for me: 1. Moonlight Temptation 2. Moonlight Judgement 3. The Brilliant Void

Sadly, but this is the only catching track in game. For some reason Michiru Yamane dont participated in creation ost for bloodstained 2, unlike first game. In bloodstained 1 soundtrack much better.

Hard disagree tbh, I would say that CotM 1 was more consistent in its ost's quality but when CotM 2 gets it right, it's some of Ippo Yamada's best work ever

I agree with the former on this, the other tracks aren't bad, but they're very forgettable. This stage, with stage 5 had the most stand out of the bunch.

I think it just takes longer for certain tracks to grow on the listener from this game. After playing through it a few times, I personally hold it in as high a regard as the first. It does have a couple of tracks I am iffy on, but there are also a couple of tracks that beat anything I liked from CotM1.

@@MailmanSSB I think CoTM 2 has more memorable tracks and overall more variety compared to the first game. I love Moonlight Temptation and Blasphemy Unto Heaven but those are the only real tracks I can hum off the top of my head compared to 2 where I can remember more. Even the first stage theme in this game I think I like more than Moonlight Temptation.

Unfortunately no. I recorded this ingame and then overlaid it over some silent gameplay. the boss themes come with sound effects, even if i pause it to record it, the intro to the music will still be missing. so it's not doable as is. someone with better ost-finding skills than mine might be able to do something, but i'm at a loss. it's a shame too because i wanna upload the final boss theme but i can't because there's no way to disable sound effects.
