My favorite use for Write On is to keyframe the brush position to cover over a handwritten signature or other text, then set it to reveal image instead, thus having the signature look like it’s being signed. Or…. Wait for it…… Written On.

I use the write-on effect to create a math porn by animating the brush position with basic trigonometric expressions Math.sin and Math.cos depending on time

Any way to increase brush size within a single mask, ie like make the brush get bigger toward the end of the mask, using Stroke that is.

Is it actualy possible to animate things like Opacity, Stroke, and Feathering over *time* with shape path strokes? I know you can taper the SP strokes but if your animating them across a line the taper will follow behind. Where Write-on seems to create the shape at the moment in time. A small difference but one that can be very helpful with specific effects.

This effects has an advantage over shape layer strokes with trim paths for revealing irregular weighted text because you can vary the brush size which makes a local change to a portion of the stroke rather than global.... it also has an inherient way of masking. So that's neat...however curves are not really curved like a stroke path because the write on effect uses a location controller
