For the movie plane, I used classic Miles 2.5" figure but he has the modern 2.5" tails substituted out and he fits in the seat perfectly. I wonder if that will work better with this plane as well?

I actually like to do that with my figures, I replaced my classic knuckles’ limbs with the modern ones and he looks so much better!

From experience, most likely not. This is One of the many reasons why I got 2.5 inch, the only time I buy 4 inch figures is when a character is larger, like a big, the cat, chaos, or Eggman
