this is seriously the best recording of this piece. 12:00 is really beautiful with the orchestra

Absolutely incredible... A dream come true... His sound never stops. The quality of clarity is brilliant and always perfect. It's an inspiration for a youth cellist :) Sincerely, Julia

What an absolutely gorgeous interpretation, with wonderful musicality bringing out the individual lines. They play like a chamber group. The introduction of the second theme by french horn transitioning to clarinet sends chills. I was swept away. And Jackob Koranyi was singing poetry with his cello. Starker would be delighted. Music of, and by, the gods.

This for sure has been my favorite recording of this piece. As a fellow cellist, 5:15 to 5:57 is just absolutely amazing. It's not over the top, very clean but still expressive. I often see cellists play this section very quickly and 'crunchy' and kind of all over the place.

Beautiful playing! Starker was my favorite until this...did you buy chance study with him?
@s.l57874 жыл бұрын
His playing is very different from Starker. Not sure why people make the comparison... he does certainly make things look effortless like Starker. But Koranyi is a much better player.
@SMoovem804 жыл бұрын
@@s.l5787 sound wise yeah nothing alike. Starker was extremely well planned about what direction he wanted to go both technically and musically, very purposeful. This guy reminded me of him in that regard.
@s.l57874 жыл бұрын
@@SMoovem80 Maybe consistent but I would argue much of Starker's interpretation is not very thoughtful, even in the Kodaly which he is famous for. His Bach I enjoy because it is simple and rhythmically consistent but something like Dvorak, it sounds like machine who puts very predictable accents which has nothing to do with the music.

Why does nobody talk about the absolutely amazing up-down 1-note-at-a-time section in the finale? (im talking about 31:25)

Wonderful! His play is more (by a little but distinct bit) colorful than Starter.

I don't understand the comparison. They are totally different players. Koranyi is simply a far more complete player both technically and musically; maybe even more complete than anyone I've ever heard.
