Cape buffaloes and water buffaloes would be my first choice if I had an opportunity

Alain have you hunted the Big Scrub Bulls and the Banteng bulls over here in Australia. Both of these Bull are just as savage as the Cape bulls. The scrub bulls can be down right psycho,, and will chase you until they either get you or you get them. Good video really enjoyed it.

Luv hunting them and yes they are very sporty!

Looks like a .375 H&H or 9.3x62 would be minimum for these things, but I'd be more comfortable with a. 416 or something bigger.

I like the way you think ! I've used all three (especially the 9.3x62) and enjoy them.

As you say, and you would know, these bulls are flighty and aggressive in close, however, for me, they do not fill me with the same sense fearful awe and foreboding, as do their African 'cousins', The Black Death. I'm glad that you sent that old bull West, he had had his day, and would soon starve.

@5:00 Alain learned that trick with the branch from that crazy PH in Africa that did that....

The thick horn buffs get much bigger with age. I've seen them flip Toyota's. Rangers do helicopter shoots. I know they keep mammosa low and they keep creek channels open Gamba grass down . These heaven sent machine is what our land needs. Plus good eating.

Man, those open areas look like they're begging for the old American Buffalo Rifles to be brought out. .40-90 with 400's, .45-100 with 500's and .50-110 with 600's for the win! Just make sure to dial the scope a half a mile over and up to accommodate the wind and drop lol. Realistically, you could load smokeless 40-70, .45-70, and 50-70 with the same bullet and get better performance lol.

What do U think of using the 300 calibre n 338 calibres, are these a nuff gun.
@JAlainSmith Жыл бұрын
I've killed them with 7mm Rem Mags and a 338 could do the job as well as a 300 placed correctly, but a 375 works really good on them and Cape Buff.

Are these as tough and aggressive as the African cape buffalo?
@cohan882 жыл бұрын
No, because they are descendents of domesticated buffalo from Asia, introduced to Australia as beasts of burden. They are feral, not wild.

I know it's been a long time but that's the weirdest looking hippopotamus I've ever seen. Just saying..., P.S., next time use a tree with bigger leaves. Do they have any palm trees over there...???
