As someone who's attended events by both artists, I've seen the dedication firsthand. At both the Kisumu and Nakuru concerts, Diamond Platnumz displayed incredible discipline, rehearsing for four straight hours from 2pm to 6pm, and then returning to perform at 10pm. That's what I call commitment. Contrast this with a different experience we had( Mediamax sponsored ) in Voi with Size 8 and Willy Paul. We were supposed to leave Nairobi at 6am, but Pozze kept everyone waiting until 12pm. I was beyond frustrated. Now, let's fast forward to the Furahia Festival. Everyone's throwing shade at Diamond, but I haven't seen a single clip of him causing any trouble. Maybe his security, but not him. On the other hand, our “artist wetu” seems to be everywhere, but not always for the right reasons. In my opinion, there's corporate behavior and then there's...well, the opposite. Diamond Platnumz consistently lands corporate endorsements because he understands the value of discipline and professionalism. Talent without restraint is wasted potential. We can criticize Diamond all we want, but it's often based on hearsay or boycotts, not his actions. And then, there's our boy Willy Paul. I didn't even know about his new collaboration with Rayvanny until he stepped on stage and told the DJ to "remove that trash." Was he forced to do the collabo? Forced to release it to the public? Such tantrums won't elevate his career. It's a matter of learning or perishing. Finally, there's this new wave of "embrace our artists first."
