@@adrianfriedrich5622 Yes, I wondered why I have never heard this song in Finnish, and still Hugo Jalava was Finnish!!! I think this song is not known in Finland at all.

@@tainahollo8567 I am not sure how true this story is tbh, maybe thats the reason why it is unknown in finnland^^ And the song is from a left band who is also in germany very unknown, so it is everywhere very unknown :D

@@tainahollo8567 As far as I know this song was written in the 1970's as part of a 2hours musical history lession on smallfolk-uprisings against the establishments of their times called 'Proletenpassion' by members of the Austrian political band 'Schmetterlinge' (one of their members died yesterday, and I was searching for some of the songs, but this was the most popular, so there exist several versions by different singers.

Im a german native speaker who learned english in school so forgive my crude translation: Jalava Intro (spoken): That it worked out in the end, in Russia, can be tracked back to the fact, that the populous didnt became confused and that the Workers and Farmers in masses took part in the Revolution. As an example for the participation of the people we bring forth the story of the finnish Trainconductor Jalava, who smuggled Lenin in October 1917 from Finland to Petersburg. 1.Vers: Burned black from Sun and (locomotive-)Boiler and also from sharp Winds, stands Jalava in the drivers cab, where steam and flames are. His new boilerman is with him, he nurishes his flame on the Locomotive 293, which today till Russia goes. A small man, with a slim build, is working there on the bridge Soot in face, his hair was grey, it was a (peri)wig. Chorus: Jalava, Jalava you Finn, for what are laughing into the wind?
