He’s not that $25mil star the Mavs need. The problem is we will lose his slot and gain nothing. I think JB knows he will always be trade bait if he signs with the Mavs bc he’s the only tradable asset. This way he will have his say where he wants to go.

Brunson is the 15th highest paid pg in the league and definitely worth the the contract. Probably a top ten pg in the league, love the signing. Go Knicks!

Who told you the Knicks expect him to be their number one option I swear if the Knicks sign anybody people will always over analyze it. Teams sign players all the time every player you sign is not expected to be their savior. They already said they don’t expect him to move the needle that much for their team. And plan on making more moves.

Exactly. All this hype is over the Utah series when he averaged 27. He had good games against Phx and GS, but also very average to poor games and averaged 18.

If the Knicks sign him it's goodbye. They will effectively make him unaffordable to our team for the foreseeable future. So, let's snatch up Viktor Oladipo on a 4 yr 22 mil a yr deal, then sign Mo Bamba so we get the defensive threat in the paint we desperately need without breaking our bank 🤷‍♂️ I know we are going to use a spot to pick up Dragic on a vet max, that's a given at this point 💯

If this happens Im OK: Brunson out Boban out T Burke out M Chriss out S Brown out Dragic in Wood in GP 2 in THJ comeback J Hardy rookie (a possible steal) The team is still strong with a good depth. The only bad thing is not getting anything for Brunson. Yeah it sucks but I think this team has the capacity to reach WCF again. Warriors and Clippers are the only two teams that on paper look considerably better than Mavs. So lets just hope the team stays healthy and that Luka takes the next step 💪💪

@@ehmtea8756 Superstars PGs are making $25 million? That’s curious, because the only superstars at the PG position are Steph, Dame and Luka. They make $47 mill, $42 mill and $36 million respectively. $25 mill is not that bad when looking at the projected cap moving forward. There are worse PGs whose production/impact have been worse than that of Jalen; D Lo is getting $29 mill… Kyle Lowry is getting $28 mill… Dinwiddie, Brogdan, Conley and rozier making more or around $21 mill a year.

@@CM-nr9my JB will get like 28Mio and DLo gets it because of a sign and trade with KD and Kyle Lowry because the heat want to win right now and they signed him. Its not the worst move the knicks could do but there are better options to rebuild. Dallas in my opinion can offer him more if they make like 5 years 135 or something like that with the last two years being a team option. But if it gets that expensive I would not do more than 3 guaranteed years. You can trade him then after the secound year. Thats jsut my opinion

25 to 30 would get you a border Allstar or an All NBA type players , if you look around the league . JB is not any where that caliber player , if Knicks are going to over pay him more then his market value let them have him . I would not pay big money for someone whose is under size can’t shoot a 3 and is not a true 2nd option. He had a success season mostly because of Luka , the Knicks don’t have anyone like Luka . I believe JB had a fluke season , just like THJ had one in his final year . He end up get a big contract and he may never repeat those stats again

If the Mavs had gotten him for $55 earlier this year I’d be fine with it but $100m is just stupid. If Luka hadn’t gotten hurt Brunson doesn’t go for 41 and this isn’t an issue. Hardaway will be back. They’ll survive just fine without Brunson.
