There is a dissonance between the bursting, inspired, shining world within the heart that remains a child that is portrayed by the melody and the lyrics' narrative of the depressing, responsibility-laden, struggling and dull reality in which an adult's happiness is strangled living daily life. Such a contrast represents the very pathos of those of this era who continued to dream but failed to reach the ideal place in their lives where it is manifest. That's why I want to scream out loud and tear through the very universe with all that I am whenever I hear a superb rendition of this song.

Even if try to go back (Lost inside the album) I have to keep going my path (is myself, having a good time) Childhood won't return (laughing with my old friends) Ultraman! Ultraman,7! How are these guys doing nowadays? And where the heck they're now? Seems like the answer is still unclear... But now, life has changed and all was a dream, suddenly waking up With the feel of something always chasing... Hell, this system creeps me out! The courage that you gave me, it worths... "Okkusenman"! "Okkusenman"! (110 million! 110 million!) All the seasons my life had are now more dramatic... When I was a kid, life was way more easy Those memories are now forgotten That 3D magazine glasses, I was... Ultraman! Ultraman,7! Past memories which seemed to be forgotten Are reviving full and strongly Making an L* with my arms, I was... Ultraman! Ultraman! But now, life has changed and all was a dream, suddenly waking up With the feel of something always chasing... Hell, this system creeps me out! Even if try to go back (Opening that old diary) I have to keep going my path (on the faded pages I found) Childhood won't return (the name of my first love) Ultraman! Ultraman,7! Now that I'm looking back at those times Seeing how sweetly innocent I was Safe and protected from all this impure things... But now, life has changed and all was a dream, suddenly waking up With the feel of something always chasing... Hell, this system creeps me out! The scenery I overlooked worths like... "Okkusenman!" Part of me, a large part, wishes i had never looked up the lyrics. Ever since then I've become genuinely unable to listen to any cover of Wily's Castle without immediately beginning to tear up because it makes me think of this. All the more so since Ichiro Mizuki passed away. All the more so with each and every passing year. Even then I think it's beautiful that something that began as a passion project written by a series of unknown Nico Nico Douga users on the other side of the world that i will never know or meet eventually found its way to me and made such a profound emotional impact on me. That thought is enough to make the melancholy more than worth it. RIP Aniki 2022, this cover was only possible because of your vision. 🙏

If this was not a Megaman soundtrack but was completely original instead, this thing would have been one of the most famous songs. The lyrics just match perfectly

I imagine the original version is the song Kamina sings through his life, and then this version is the entirety of Team Dai Gurren fighting and preserving Kamina's legacy. The long note is Simon.

I first heard this version while watching Claic Yuzolt and it immediately felt like something much older, like a song I'd known all my life, then I realised that was because I HAD known it all my life, as an 8 year old getting to Dr. Wily's Castle for the first time I felt invincible!! and this song brings back those feelings..... and then I saw the translation and it hits shockingly close to home..... being an adult sucks.....

I can’t read all the kanji there, but I recognize 才能 (talent) and 無 which can be used as a prefix in a compound word to make it negative, so yeah, it is “waste of talent” EDIT: looked it up, the full sentence is 「才能の無駄遣い」(sainou no mudazukai) which is indeed just “waste of talent.” 才能 = talent, の = possessive particle, 無駄遣い = (a) waste.

They're just possibly not really famous outside of Japan, but it'd be great to see them in concerts, I know I'd go see that concert myself, there are also plenty of good Japanese bands but we just don't know about them outside of Japan despite how good they can be and have a lot of potential for the international scene...
