With all this construction, a North Coast Highway needs to be fully inland from Negril to Port Antonio, with spurs and connections in and out of the towns. I wonder what land acquisition along the North Coast will be in 10 years. The local coastal roads will only be able to handle local traffic. Doing piecemeal construction will only cost more in the long run. As these areas develop, there'll be no ability to segregate traffic from one town from the other, the entire Northern Coast will be like a wall of development, think south Florida from Miami to Cental West Palm Beach, the entire coastline is developed.

This is the only bus of its kind, and it currently only runs routes 32, 44, 46 or 47. The currently horrible levels of service are due to the JUTC not receiving a sizable number of buses since *_2016_* allegedly due to some (ret@rded imo) IMF agreements. Since then so many of the existing buses have been parked or retired due to age and maintenance that the amount remaining is not enough to provide any remotely useful levels of service. New buses are on the way, but it's only 70, of which Portmore likely won't get more than 30. Unfortunately, service will not be "good" again until earliest 2025. {If they even bought 50 buses a year from 2017-2021, no one would notice any significant service drop} I'm not sure what you plan to do until then, but in short, the bus system will be like this for longer than many realize 😞

People are so weird and stupid!! Electric buses can go anywhere, but there has to be launch and trials before it can go to other places. Electric chargers also has to be available, if there’s not a bus depot to charge.

They're seemingly working on that... 56 new buses were recieved this year with more to come next year

​@anthonybchambers2666 To pay the drivers more and keep the bus fare cheap would mean that more people would have to be using the busses daily. Maybe that will happen in time when people realize that the busses are reliable and are less of a hassle than driving their own cars. This might happen when parking gets more scarce and expensive and the traffic gets more congested.
