DM Equipment’s modular container homes offer chic and affordable real estate option

MAY 26, 2024: Amid the dread of the current real estate blackhole that young Jamaicans are attempting to manoeuvre, Duane Marzouca Equipment Company Limited is positioning themselves as a port in the storm for protective new home owners. Through partnership with an overseas manufacturer, the Zoukie Trucking subsidiary is touting their modular container homes as the “next best thing” for buyers on a budget.
Though DM Equipment Co Ltd is not new to the modular container business, they said this evolution came from a need they saw in the real estate market.
Joshelle Campbell, project manager at DM Equipment Co Ltd, told the Sunday Gleaner, “We saw the outreach from the government asking for more affordable homes and we thought this would be a good introduction to the market as an option to them which is affordable, as well as still comfortable and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.”

Get that in the middle raised a additional wall exterior like additional bedroom, deck, garage storage room, so you have additional protection, rust management you have product that can take care of that not a bad idea for low income house

Making homes from containers is not a new innovation, thus is easily 25 years old. Research on this manufacturer and inspecting the structure with someone knowledgeable is your job as with any substantial purchase.

Might as well build a board plywood or bamboo house, and secure it from wind and hurricane, ...... Build with nature Why not build these for the homeless people who are living and sleeping in the streets. House them temporarily and implement proper procedures for rehabilitation and working towards others endeavors to get off the streets

@@kfmendes4550 Expound please, if this works for others, their choice these containers will be very hot inside if not very well insulated, the ac will be running constantly, more windows has to be installed for better air circulation. Plus listened to all that the land owner had to be responsible for inorder to get the container to be installed, plus shipping and transportation cost too I say the government can get the land and installed areas for women and children and areas for men, those who are homeless and seeking transition in a job and or rehabilitation towards better. This is temporary as to get the homeless population a place. This will be a rotation transition for up to six months depends on the severity of the mental health issues of the homeless person

This is way overpriced for a fold up box that won’t be shipped for free. For 6.5 million you can get a shipping container or 2 and build it out yourself. One that can actually withstand more than a category 4 hurricane.
