***** rycka, you words are true, but these sports man and women inspire our youth, anyone who helps to make a positive change in people lives and encourage them to be something other than government drones is a hero in my eys. These olympians show that you can work for years in obscurity for your dream. Always striving and never giving up. They do not get paid loads of money and have to fight for sponsors to survive and pay their bills, feed their families. If we can teach our children that the only thing stopping you from being the best you can be is fear, then we can help them overcome and maybe create a better future for one and all.

Yeah, couldn’t agree more. All athletes are ‘amateurs’ and people consider that word as negative these days. Kudos to them, you can't get anything more likely to be scoffed at than a Jamaican bobsliegh team, except maybe an Eskimo 200 metres breaststroke relay team. I can just picture when it was first suggested: they are sitting in a crowded bamboo thatch bar on the beach one says " Hey, guys, this is getting kinda old. I've had this great idea, mon" "What be dat, Mon." " We use all our savings and train like made to risk our lives in doing 80mph down a mountainside in a little sledge" "We got no snow man, in case you haven't noticed, this be JAMAICA, Mon!
