Thanks man! you sound like me I have chased the same problem for a couple years, even bought a smoke machine(cheap one) and smoked it till my garage smelled like shit. Iam going to take a look at the wiring. the jeep was hit in that area. so maybe wiring might be an issue.. has it stayed ok?

Yep! My light has never come back on. Definitely take a look. It could be hard to find. But look for kinks or punches in the loom that covers the harness.

Did the gas pump shut off every few seconds while filling it up?

known issues just flip pump trigger up side down at 12" oclock sounds stupid but it works for me good Luck!!
