Witnesses like Paxman (an incredibly famous journalist in the UK and considered very trustworthy) testified networking with Morgan, who clearly described how you would hack voicemails to Paxman. He was also sacked for maligning UK armed forces in Iraq by publicising doctored images of soldiers abusing Iraqi civilians. These images were faked, and Morgan refused to apologise to the chief editor of the Mirror for mistake. Whether it was malicious or he just fell for a hoax, who knows?

@@ianmartinesq My memory for the ruckus at the time is a bit shoddy. But I remember it being quite a non-partisan scandal. Regardless of people's politics I remember most people being disgusted. I think it was more of an indictment of his professional character as a journalist than anything. Currently, he is much more mired in the politics of it all. I personally struggle to characterise him. On the one hand, he's antithetical to left wing views such as CRT, LGBT activism etc. But he's also a big anti-establishment figure (or at least has designed his persona as one). Forgive me if I'm incorrect, but the UK has a much more ingrained class system than the US. As such, class and politics are attached at the hip and his anti-aristocratic views in that regard feels pretty left wing (at least to me). But yeah. Most people I know dislike him on the basis of what he did at the Mirror. Some dislike his obnoxious interview techniques (IMO I don't mind curt journalism). As to his recent controversies it's alot more subjective from person to person. For instance, I think he hits the mark on nailing politicians to a cross, but don't agree with many of his other views.

He's morally reprehensible and an attention-seeking loser with no real beliefs or stances. He just does and says what he thinks will get him the most attention.

@@Dominian1 did anyone actually watch this clip? Lorraine says "hear me out" - she obviously hates Piers Morgan, but she was just pointing out he was the only one yelling at the government. The real issue is the complete lack of journalistic integrity. Presenters sit on their hands and listen like good little schoolchildren when the likes of Farage or Rees-Mogg spout hateful rubbish.

Nothing personal- but I wish fans would stop suggesting that literally anyone they like would be good in Doctor Who 😂 Same with Richard Ayoade; he's great, but I don't think he'd exactly fit (except maybe to direct and/or write an episode, that could be fun). James is great, and he can do comedy well, but he isn't an actor.

James is spot on as usual, people with a platform rarely do, but they *should* consider how what they say is listened to. Especially people of Lorraine's generation and older are so used to there being A Voice On The News that tells you How Things Should Be that they just go along with it. Famous people need to take some responsibility for the people they endorse. Lorraine's other mistake is thinking that you can say something and then be able to "take" the criticism without acknowledging it (not that in front of cameras and an audience is the ideal time, but she made that bed) and then the criticism doesn't matter. It's the old "I say what I think and if you don't like it that's your problem" scenario that James literally used in his Repertoire routine years ago.
