Why did they not give Anderson a tap on the shoulder and allow him to 'retire' - to at least frame it as his decision. Why all these leaks of how he wasn't expecting it and how Baz and Key made the decision. Is it not disrespectful to Anderson? It seems that the management are more interested in being seen to make the hard decisions than allow Anderson to retire on his own terms.

if we could ever get the truth, (no chance of that coming out) i think he wanted to go on ashes tour in 2025/6 and Eng were saying your not going on that plane, so they tried to sugar coat it and all the interviews he's given you get the impression he's holding back when answering how the conversation went, right of wrong its made what would have been a average summer instantly more interesting now, as were going to see lots of new bowlers play for England and WI will think they have a sniff at beating Eng at home for the first time in decades.

The reality is Anderson wanted to go to the ashes in 2025 and stokes and Baz know that it will be a disaster if he is on that tour, so they told him, enough is enough.
