I love the lyrics about safety, and feeling safe to be vulnerable enough to admit loving a person. That hits me .. I can remember feeling that way in the loving relationships I've had, and how one man, my now husband, allowed me to feel so safe that all of the risk and vulnerability dissipated because of the emotions we share. Safe ... we've got each other's back through all the crap that life throws us. Safe.. unconditional acceptance of who I am at the core, my fears, my baggage, my flaws, faults and learned defecits. Safe .. all the walls we learn to build around ourselves through the trials, defeats, letdowns, disappointments and heartache fall away and the risk of letting one break through those walls because the love is so whole. Not sure why the reference to safety resonates with me so deeply but I suppose it's the inference that in love, you will never be alone in your trials. Thank you for your music and for sharing pieces and reflections of your own personal life with us through your music.
