At that time I listened to this song and imagined what it would be like to be healthy. 6 years later (2 years clean) Everything is so much better than I dreamed it would be. The reason why we all adore his music so much is because you can FEEL the authenticity. I doubt that there's one human being on this planet that hasn't experienced something he sings about. We feel his pain, because every one of us has felt pain. We feel his enthusiasm, because every one of us has felt the feeling of falling in love, or doing something we love. We can relate to him because (for the longest time), we've not truly felt emotion from music. And he gives that to us. He's a TRUE artist.

@didikris2263

This song might even change my life for the better as I am about to have another go at 'recovery' after a relapse from drug and alcohol abuse. And being a musician myself, one of artistic and self proclaimed "I have insight into life itself", as we all do under the influence of drugs and alcohol....weather that be true or not...it is what we see in the 'straight mind' that truly defines us. It can be bloody hard, I'll tell you that...but when achieved, tis a joy to sit on that mountain of "Recovery".

Paige Music those words can be very triggering for an alcoholic. They are not cured as well as can never be cured from alcoholism. Many relapses happen because they think now that they can “control it” because they have so far. They think they are cured when in reality, they cannot be. They have a gene that will never go away. So saying those words may trigger them to believe they are cured :/

Bhavish Megha thank you for showing your support ! I cannot begin to explain how much it means to me. It was a challenge, but I have learned to love myself after that relationship. Getting out of a relationship is hard when you really love someone and myself i have just broke with my ex but she did it.. i couldn't get out.. its good when you have someone who you can talk about anything and can get support back.. Music can heal your soul. music makes you realize things that you aren't seeing and it destroy your soul too!! I don't care about how many likes I get on this but I've just recently learned about this song and many more. But this song right here, has me feeling something that's been hidden for a long time. This isn't something I want to feel but then again, sometimes it just happens. As he sings this, I realize I have a lot in common with the song. I design my own recovery; this song defines depression perfectly. I have major depression and this song just releases the pain I feel. Thank you for writing this song and many others.

It’s not an easy road to walk. As a person in long term recovery, I didn’t follow traditional paths. And I literally designed it from different parts of current options. I’m ok with it, life changes, our recovery changes and what we need to do to continue to be strong changes. Recovery is ever changing as we evolve over time. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Keep moving forward. You’re worth it😊♥️

@@okandnowlol9947 I'm so sorry for the late reply. James Arthur is a fighter, he has fought through his anxiety and mental health every single day and it is really hard, when you don't meet a person's standards, but he did. He hasn't had an easy life, where his parents got divorced, he has had it tough. He has struggled with depression and I feel for him, because I know how it feels to be living with that. It ain't easy and I'm so glad he made it out! He fought and fought and he made it out! I respect him so much, because he has been in the same situation as me and just by listening to his song's from time to time. It makes me a stronger women every single day. He has fought through mental health and I'm really happy for him to have got the recovery he needed. As you listen to his song's it says "I've broken down walls". Came out publicly and defended James saying, no way is James homophobic. But felt his comments were out of place in todays society. Which is quite correct. Also during X-factor shows, James roomed with Ryland Clark for 10 weeks, and BTW, became best mates. Ryland also came out publicly, and also defended James, stating, James is not homophobic, he's just a silly boy doing what he did.

Leona no?! She outsings both of them! I`m not talking about the commercial succes, but the quality and the range of her voice, And the emotion she transmits. Have you heard her singing Snow Patrol`s Run LIVE at the X Factor? If that doesn`t give you the chills, then you might as well cut your ears cause you`re deaf.

***** I don't like DIVAS in general. so sorry. I don't like Leona... she makes me sleep I'm so sorry... it's about taste not about range. It's music !!!! Freddie Mercury was/is the best no question about it. Adele has personality, Leona is boring but only to me, no worries.

In two weeks' time, I'll be sharing at my NA group to celebrate my first year of recovery. 351 days clean and sober as I write this. In my last couple of days of my five month rehab stay, I heard this song. I'm nowhere near perfect, I'm nowhere near safe, but I'm here, I'm alive, and I'm still fighting.
