This sounds a lot like those Malian desert blues players with some delta blues thrown in. I like it. He and my mother were born in the same wide place in the road in South Carolina.

A harmelodic jazz series- what a fantastic idea!

After Jimi Hendrix he is my 2nd favourite guitar player, and i had the chance to tell him that, backstage at the Skopje Jazz Festival 2015. He was so sweet and kind. That was my second time to see him play, after 25 years at the same Festival when i was shocked and mesmerised by him. But now, 2015, i knew his music and was already totally into it, especially after his first solo blues "projects" with Vernon Reid....i was so happy when i found about that project in the beginning of KZbin. He made such an influence on my playing, even though i am a strictly slide player. I think he should be promoted more that the young musicians should learn from him. I think the future belongs to him. , same as Jimi.

I remember him as the wild guy, that was about 40 years ago. He was a truly great player then as well as now, but I prefer this session here. His music is different, maybe deeper. I'm very glad to see him doing so fine, he deserves the best.
