I first saw this Dutch documentary about 20? years ago, and was blown away by what was in it. George Lazenby as honest as he can be. Also probably one of the last interviews Peter Hunt gave as well.Sadly.Two different versions of the same story.Wonderful editor, and director Hunt, who arguably made the best Bond movie ever.Thanks for uploading this.

I thought i was the only one who believed this. He was very innocent as an actor, and that baggage played through as a vulnerability that made him, and the film awesome. He was better than Daniel Craig who was supposed to project this in Casino Royale.

superlyger He wasn't an actor, and his innocence, vulnerability, and his relatively young age without experience, doesn't fit with the character of Bond in O.H.M.S.S. Daniel Graig fit in ''Casino Royale'' which was the first Bond mission.

The movies aren't canon. The books usually formed a slight basis to the stories, but otherwise Bond was a reinvented character depending on the actor and director. Remember the popular depiction in the audiences' minds were Connery's inerpretation through Terrence Young's direction. This interpretation was not canon according to the books. Connery sought to add humor to the character while Terrence Young tried to domesticate both Connery and the character via Savile Row. When Lazenby came along he addressed this his new Bond by breaking the fourth wall, "This never happened to the other fella." He fit the prototypical look ala Cary Grant, and he shined in the role regardless of literary canon. By comparison the short blonde feminized Craig Bond cried like a bitch. Something we're not used to for Bond.

Lazenby is very cool I think the story with Peter Hunt not talking to him anymore is a little extreme and immature on his end. Lazenby didn’t know those were his friends and big deal. It’s rather silly but I guess when you’re an outsider and a big star is overshadowing you with the likes of Connery, it’s hard to get respect from people. Regardless, he was great and one of my favorite Bonds.

What, as opposed to Roger Moore? Lazenby missed out on the fame, but I’m glad he didn’t stick around for “Man With The Golden Gun” or “Moonraker”!
