@marniekilbourne608 Жыл бұрын
@@carolray9156 You can NOT put children to death. They are nowhere near developed like adults. It is absolutely horrific but that is not the solution. A mental facility for life is a better place. The last child they executed was in the 1930's in the electric chair and they barely had any evidence. Race was clearly a factor in that and how quickly he was arrested and put to death. The death penalty is outdated especially given how many people are falsely convicted. It belongs in the past. They can't commit murder but we as society can for punishment? That makes us as bad as killers. It also costs more to put a person to death overall than to just give them life without parole. Thou Shalt Not Kill....no exceptions listed and just a general rule to go by for the non religious.
@marniekilbourne608 Жыл бұрын
You would think but who knows what their young brains were thinking or what those boys had experienced in their lives. They certainly needed to do extensive psych evaluations and investigate their family life. They would still need to be locked up but knowing why for sure and what they understood is important. Kids do kill and we really need to figure out why this is happening and more often. Then maybe things can be done to prevent tragedies like this and many others.

the killers names & records should be made publicly known for the remainder of their lives. they shouldve been given the death penalty or atleast life. i know they were kids themselves, but they premeditated this crime, they actively tried to cover it up, they planned it, hunted, stalked their prey, SO much forethought went into this before, during & after, that had they not been ratted on by a witness, they might have gotten away with it, due to the inept uk police & public. this was 100% 1st degree murder, kidnapping, torture, etc.

This case has stuck with me since it happened. The fact too that Jon Venables has been in trouble again despite his change of name and location says more about him in terms of his intent, than it does anything else. The cold blooded intent to take any child off the street and do ill intent shows these two had no compunction about killing a defenseless child. The strength of Denise to be able to live on despite the horrendous thing done to her baby is testament to who she is. A survivor. She reminds me a lot of Doris Tate, mother of Sharon Tate murdered by the Manson gang.
