Absolutely right. I work in public opinion research - and the first thing you learn is that 'Perception is Reality'. Forget about Facts. Forget about Truth.

Interesting point. To this I would respectfully add that "demonstrating how a new truth works" matters. What we see working is how scientific breakthroughs happen.
